Great place for pancakes and sausages! 8" fluffy perfect cakes with their own maple syrup. You know the pancakes are good when you pour 1/4 cup of syrup on, let them sit and they've soaked it all up.
Beautiful ride up to Wheeler's, they have nice trails to walk around. You'll need to after you have some of the delicious pancakes and syrup.
My only gripe is that they don't serve eggs. Coffee is good though.
Maple sap artifacts museum in the side building is a walk down memory lane.
Wheelers has a special place in my heart. I've been going to Wheelers with family and friends quite literally since I was a little girl. The pancakes have tasted the same for over 20 years. I've never once been disappointed with an experience at Wheelers. I highly recommend this pancake house to anyone looking for an authentic Canadian experience. Thank you to the Wheeler family- you have impacted my life more than you know!
Mike & I went to Wheelers Pancake House and Sugar Camp! We met family for lunch - we all had delicious pancakes with fresh maple syrup, plus maple sausages made on site! Our table was right next to the windows where we could watch sap coming from the trees into the facility. This clearly thoughtful diversion of passing a large pipeline for viewing pleasure was quite wonderful!
Afterwards, we explored the many, museums and many, many items on display.
????????????
The restaurant was packed when we arrived, but we popped in before the restaurant closed for the day and the last few diners enjoyed the meal to snap snapped a picture of the dining room - isn't it lovely in there?
In case you didn't know, Wheelers is open 9am-3pm, year-round (closed Christmas) so you can explore the cool collections, hike the trails, and enjoy pancakes (or french toast) with Wheeler's Maple Syrup no matter when you come!
There are some photo collages that will give you a glimpse into what you can discover at Wheelers Pancake House and Sugar Camp near Perth, Ontario! The collections are immense, and well laid out for exploring the history of maple, from making to moulding and everything in between! There's a chainsaw museum plus mechanical wonders that show how maple syrup production has changed over the decades.
PS Follow the driving instructions on their website - or the Wheelers Maple signs as there are non-maintained roads that lead to Wheelers. GPS will take you down these "roads" if you are not careful!
Great place to bring the family for some pancakes or French toast. It was busy but we were seated immediately and the service was exceptional. Other than the breakfast there is a very extensive and interesting collection of various different types of chainsaws. Most of which are very old and unique. There is also a small pen of horses and ponies which makes the visit even more enjoyable for children. It is a little bit of a drive from Ottawa but easy to find and the roads are well maintained the entire way. Overall it was a blast spending the morning there and we will for sure be returning!
