Country Place Chinese Restaurant

l love the deep fried chicken wings and Yang Chou fried rice from this take out.

Stopped by here for a quick dinner meal. I used to go here all the time with my family when their restaurant was located down the road more south in that Inuit art plaza building.

The food is how I remembered it. Everything tasted fresh and crispy. I ordered a combo plate number 8 as I was expecting there to be a dinner buffet before 8PM on Saturday as advertised on their menu, but I was explained that the dinner buffet is no longer a thing that they do. They only just do the lunch buffet.

I dined in, but I was a bit sad to see that my all-time favourite Chinese food restaurant in the city growing up looked extremely outdated and messy.

They're a family owned restaurant which I am all for, but I was upset to see that some tables and chairs were full of their personal belongings, some chair legs were cracked, the plastic covers that go over the tables were scratched up.

The restaurant owner/chef who welcomed me was very friendly but I felt like my business to them didn't really matter much at all. There's not really much quality in service since I'm guessing now a days, most of their business are deliveries and not really much dining in, hence why I was the only one really eating there.

I would definitely like to go again or perhaps order a delivery order or pick-up, but I don't think I would want to dine in again unless they make the attempt to renovate a bit of the place.

I would also highly recommend to make the adjustment to their menu and remove the dinner buffet so it doesn't steer customers away who would be looking forward to something like that.

The restaurant has been here forever, and in the middle of an industrial park no less. If it wasn't a gem, it wouldn't have survived. I never feel sick after eating here. Always satisfied. A real Chinese family restaurant. Dine in and you'll understand. You won't regret it.

This is a guilty pleasure of mine. Just to be clear, it's not high end food, it's exactly what you'd expect for Americanized Chinese food. We order and pick-up a few times a year and we are always very pleased. It's fresh and tasty and i'm pretty sure very high calorie! :) It's a family business and they seem to all work together very hard to maintain the business. Everybody is always friendly and courteous. Though I have to be honest I would never dine-in as the dining room is not appealing to me. The family leaves a lot of personnel stuff on the table of the dining room and cash register area and it makes it look messy and not appetizing.
