    #BEST SEAFOOD CHOWDER IN OTTAWA
As true to Newfoundland as you can find, Petit Bill’s Bistro seafood chowder is loaded with seafood: loads of clams, whitefish, cod, scallops, mussels, lobster. Owners Terry & Randy are salt of the earth, good people with great senses of humour. They always make a point of personally greeting each customer - a personal touch.
Nice sidewalk patio. Beautifully decorated for more formal events if you’re looking for a romantic date night. Been here about 20 times. Each time tried something different. Everything was full of flavour and delish. I’d be willing to bet that you’ll come back.

I went with a small group of friends and all who ordered the Bill's Burger agreed that it was very dry. But I got to say, we all agreed that the fries were DELICIOUS! Thin, crispy but not burnt. The roasted garlic sauce was INCREDIBLE. I would buy a tub of it if I could. The salad can be skipped.

The service was a mess. The table was sticky, burgers came without lettuce or tomato. Our table had flies constantly flying around. The table across the room received partially correct food.

The waitress really did her best during the lunch time rush, fixing kitchen order mistakes and make sure we were comfortable.

Best seafood chowder I've had since leaving the Maritimes! Bill's burger was also delicious. The dressing on the mixed green salad had a unique smoky flavor - which I very much enjoyed. The pecan burger was good, both texture and flavour, but could have used just a bit more acidity in the condiments. Unfortunately the service was a bit off - our waitress rarely spoke to us, which she acknowledged at one point late in the meal. We ended up asking the hostess for water refills and a second glass of wine, which she got wrong :-( The restaurant seemed 'steady' but not overly busy (no wait line), but with only the owner and single waitress working front of house, perhaps the few larger groups drove up their workload. Overall it was a delicious meal and we'll be going back.

We heard good things about Bill's, and we are happy to say the reputation is well deserved. The ginger duck was absolutely the best duck I've ever had. Perfect sweet and crunchy on the outside, fall off the bone tenderness inside. The seafood chowder is also not to be missed! It is hearty and extremely flavorful! As an anniversary dinner, we couldn't have chosen better!

Came here for lunch and got their Argentinian shrimp pasta. The shrimp was fresh tasting and cooked perfectly. The pasta was clearly hand made and fresh. What I found lacking though was the sauce, it simply didn't have much flavour. It was good, and I'd be back, but I think I'd try a different dish. The service was okay but not amazing.
