The Rideau Restaurant

The restaurant is clean and hygienic that giving customers a comfortable environment. However, there is a slight gap between the dishes and the authentic Cantonese cuisine. Additionally, there's a waiter's attitude wasn't very good. Overall feel good, affordable.

Dropped in to our favorite Chinese food restaurant. Always very satisfied with every dish we have had here. The open ended egg rolls are a must! We will be back again soon!

We order from Rideau a couple times per month. As far as Canadian Chinese food goes, it’s by far the best in the area right now. Food is always fresh, tasty and hot. Not sure what others are expecting, but we do not find the particular dishes we order to be bland at all. Nice flavour with just the right amount of heat/spice for our Canadian palates. Looking for “authentic”? Maybe try somewhere on Somerset, otherwise, you can’t go wrong ordering take out from Rideau.

Great food, place is a little rundown and could use new decor, but food is delicious and authentic. Most servers are pleasant. Pan fried dumplings and Shanghai noodles are both incredible. Reasonable prices, and generous portions. My large family (6 people) was fed for around 100$ with plenty of food leftover to bring home. Definitely worth checking out for new-comers.
