Westboro Barley Mow

Barley Mow, situated on Richmond Road in fashionable west-end Westboro, is a reasonably priced pub that some might think of as a bar/lounge. Either way, Barley Mow is attractively appointed and does a good job of providing respite from the High Street with spacious ground floor and basement tabling, and a well specified menu with a decently stocked bar. The menu offers some creative options, but typical fare like hamburgers and chicken wings underscore good flavours and timely service. The bar is located on Westboro's main "drag" so parking might be a consideration, but there is ample street parking and a lot of people are likely to be in Westboro on other business, so not a problem.

Food is pub style and it was excellent! Sat on the rooftop which is very nice ambiance. Live music too after 9pm on Friday which could be a lot of fun for friends and people who enjoy live music. Service was great too! Casual dining in Westboro B+

Our program fairly regularly uses the room downstairs for small gatherings. Usually about 30 to 35 people. The room has a large screen for presentation or to enjoy games etc.
I can't really comment on food or drinks, as I don't usually eat or drink here.
Parking is not super difficult to find. Overall, good place to go for a little grab.

The selection of Beer was very impressive and I enjoyed a Mango IPA. We shared an appetizer of Zucchini which was OK but found it to be a bit too firm. We then shared a Fish and Chips. I did not like the fish which was not a traditional Fish and Chips but more of a filet with some sort of batter on it. The one piece we had was not enjoyable at all and I would not recommend it. I think there has been a change in fish as we have had the Fish and Chips before and it was much nicer. I had one bite of the salad and left the rest. The chips were very good. Small portion for Fish and Chips.

Service was good.

With all the nice restaurants on Richmond Rd we made a mistake tonight or at least a mistake in ordering the Fish and Chips.

Best service as soon as you walk in, hostess and waitress are happy and friendly. Rooftop patio is great with misting machines on hot days! Waiters upstairs were fun and attentive even when it’s busy! Food is always delicious, great selection! The nachos or Mow-chos are awesome. Love it and will be back.
