On a recent visit and photo shoot in the Distillery District, we decided to grab some dinner. Mill Street Brew Pub seemed to be the only place that could accommodate us right away. Why was that? Were they no good? We did check a few other places before settling on here and there was up to a two hour wait at the other places! Hmmm, we'll give it a try...
Compared to the neighbouring Mill Street Beer Hall, which I've been to before, the menu seems a bit smaller, with lighter fare. That was actually fine for what we wanted. At least for what we thought we wanted.
After contemplating the menu for a while, we chose Honey Garlic Chicken wings to start, followed by a Malaysian Chicken Curry with rice, and a Buffalo Blue Burger with a beef patty, chicken tenders, bacon, and blue cheese.
The wings arrived first, saturated in honey, perhaps a tad too much for my liking, but they tasted good. They were served with carrot sticks and blue cheese sauce. Overall, not bad.
I had the Malaysian Chicken Curry and it was pretty good. The sauce had a nice flavour and it was spiced just right. The portion was quite generous. Again though, maybe a little too much sauce.
My companion had the Buffalo Blue Burger and it appeared to be quite hefty, with a couple of chicken fingers and bacon sitting on the beef patty. She kinda ate it deconstructed because of its size.
Overall, the food was good and the service was acceptable, considering how busy they were. We did, however, get in right away.
My first time going here and I have to say the female manager was absolutely amazing!!! She was very hospitable and sweet and did her job well. I would definitely recommend coming here!!
We had a bachelorette party at Mill St. on Saturday for a brewery tour. Jack, our tour guide, was FABULOUS. He offered so much insightful knowledge, and was super entertaining and hilarious. The $10 price is well worth it for an afternoon of fun. Will be recommending to all our friends/family. Thanks Jack and Mill St!!
Amazing place in the distillery district. Food is ok but very less options for vegetarians. Customer service is extraordinary and very quick. This place has been our regular hang out for more than6 months now.. I am huge fan of beans and sweet potato fries here. Ambience is quite good with many many TV..
Delicious wings, decent servers, good beer. Iconic brewery in Toronto, Mill St organic is great ladies light summer beer. spur beer tasted like a light beer with lime juice squeezed into it, would not recommend. Atmosphere in restaurant is good, was busy for a Monday night. Came with a large group (~30 people), 18% gratuity was automatically included. Waiter was not helpful or concerned, just wanted to get orders in. Chicken wings (honey garlic sauce) were delicious, fish & chips were good, chuck burger (on special for $10 Monday nights) was a bit dry, fries were small and dry, beyond meat burger was 8/10.
