Food is the same from one to another however, the staff here are what makes the place. Cheerfully, efficient and loads of fun. I take it this location in Toronto deals with four people and appreciated having fun with 2 customers who kibbitzed with them. Cheers for that!!!
A local favourite and fixture for decades, this Swiss Chalet has kept wonderfully nostaligic royalist decor consisting of portraits of kings and royals past and present, kitchen items, antiques and books dating back decades more. Despite it being a modern chain, the ambiance succeeds in creating a feeling of being in a well apportioned home, long ago. The food is good and always consistent. The menu focuses on the chicken and ribs that made the chain famous without deviation from other locations. Service can be variable, so there is a take out option or one can expect a more leisurely pace for dinner, which may be a deterrent for a quick bite. That caters to the area and the feeling of a slower pace, which the clientele, mainly local, has sustained and likely will for years to come.
This particular Swiss Chalet is our go to Swiss Chalet Restaurant for take out. However, today we had to return because a chicken dinner was not in the bag. On opening the meals we initially received, all had multi-grain rolls instead of white, they gave the Swiss Chalet gravy instead of the dipping sauce and the 1/2 rack back ribs were smaller than 1/3 side ribs. All in all disappointed .
