Bistro Barolo

Chicken Carbonara is great (5 stars) and the other dishes I've tried there are solid (4-4.5 stars). Definitely would recommend trying this place.

Some months ago my personal restaurant spy alerted me to the presence of a new Italian restaurant, Bistro Barolo, in Rockwood; and, I knew we had to try it. Five of us enjoyed dining together on Saturday evening. Even though I’m not a fan of mussels, I chose the seafood linguine which was excellent - plenty of seafood in a full bodied but not overpowering sauce. My wife chose the cedar smoked salmon, which as it’s named indicated did have a wonderful cedar flavour. A most enjoyable evening. Minor complaint: our coffee-loving friends couldn’t have an espresso because the machine was broken. Hopefully it will be fixed when we next dine here.

We went for dinner and had a wonderful experience! The staff were very friendly and the food was excellent. We will definitely be back!

Came out for a birthday dinner with family and I must say I was very impressed.

They did an excellent job renovating this place. Like night and day compared to the previous restaurant that was there.

Our waitress was excellent. On top of everything and very friendly (all the staff were).

I ordered the soup and warm spinach salad.
The soup was like a tomato, red pepper soup (can't remember the name) ...it was very hearty ... Absolutely delicious.

The warm spinach salad was also a great choice .... I added a chicken breast to it. Was not disappointed. My other family members ordered various dishes from pasta to salmon and everything was perfect. Not one complaint (& we are an Italian family .... We love our pasta & home made sauce). You can taste the freshness and quality that was put into each dish. Also the portions were very generous. You won't be disappointed.

The chef/owner came out towards the end and introduced himself which was very classy.

I was very pleased with my first visit to this restaurant and I will definitely be eating here again. I'm looking forward to trying something else on the menu ????
