“I stayed at this motel one night in June 2009 while doing the return run on the Petite Train du Nord cycling trail from Mont Laurier. Its a very basic motel so don't expect too much but for cyclists doing the ride its just about perfect as its only a couple hundred yards from the trail. Also there is a a small hot dog stand run by the owner just down on the highway. There is also a grocery store nearby. As I recall the TV selection was quite good. Its certainly okay for a one night layover and worth the price.”

“Just love this place. You have a choice of local produce even the bread (no soya) which is great. Everything is tasty. The service is efficient, warm, and smily. They also have some local beer. I came with a group of 12 actors from Germany for drinks. We did not have much time, but the service was impeccable. The owner (chef) Helene, sometimes helps saving the plates herself, with a kind smile; and the waitress, Karine, is an absolute darling, helpful, kind, and efficient. I have seen her cope with two large tables, and still take time to help with the heavy door. I shall miss this place.”

“I ordered a sashimi mix and the plate I got is not what I expected but mmmm! Delighted!!! Thinly sliced tuna of good quality and some varied assorted salmon. I prefer tuna however the salmon was really good too. There was a very lightly smoked but still sashimi salmon and I believe salmon marinated very lightly in maple syrup. It was excellent with a generous portion of really yummy freshly pickled ginger and strong quality wasabi. I paired it with a glass of Sauvignon blanc. I pass through here rather infrequently but I’ll remember this place. And travelers bonus it’s attached tote motel l’Auberge l’Etape, older motel but the rooms are spacious and the bed is a travelers dream. Soooo good.”
