Had the same exact meal last night. It was good, so I thought I'd order it again. This time I got a key lime pie! Haven't had the pie yet, but the food was totally different. No butter, no big deal. I Sausage was soggy, so we're the bottoms of the potatoes. The crab had to have the water squeezed out of it, and then it was not worth it. There was no taste. Tomorrow, I'll be sure to go elsewhere.
We found Steamers by accident after trying to get a table without an hour wait at a couple other oyster houses on a rainy evening. We were seated right away out on the porch. Our server, Caroline, was attentive. The oysters on the shell were good sized, the horseradish "had heat" to mix cocktail sauce. My grilled shrimp & scallops platter w new potatoes, green beans and corn was great. My hubby enjoyed his seared tuna platter as well. We were pleasantly full, but a generous portion of tangy, Key lime pie is hard to resist. We will go back!
The steamer restaurant is a great place to stop for excellent Oysters Rockefeller, baked clams, smoked tuna dip and so much more on the menu. Not a high class expensive place just great food good prices and excellent service. Ask for a server by the name of Desiree she was definitely the best! Clean restrooms clean environment and a nice patio area to dine in the ocean breeze. They would have gotten five stars but they charge $0.25 for chips to go with does smoked tuna dip which I thought was a little tacky but don't let that stop you it's still a good place!
A great place to get some seafood with moderate prices as far as seafood is concerned. They have heaters outside in the front which makes it pleasant dining outdoors during cooler weather. The seafood tasted fresh, service was pretty quick and it was just a nice place off the main drag. Really enjoyed it - an excellent find. We've gone twice during our two week stay in Gulf Shores.
