The Hangout Gulf Shores

So MUCH FUN! Love the atmosphere. Had crab legs and house salad for lunch. Delicious! Everything is fresh and well prepared. We bumped into the evening's entertainers (Throne of Eden) before they set up and they invited us to return in the evening. So.after dinner we came back to The Hangout. What a great evening vibe! We had a blast. Really liked the band. Good music and engaging with the crowd. Lead guitarist is very talented. Will definitely come back.

Honestly overall I loved the experience. It was our last day of vacation and we had 5 children. The portion sizes were amazing, the atmosphere was bordering perfection and the open design only added to it. We ended up getting to give the kids an awesome memory with the foam! They also had a birthday and oh my gosh the total participation for the entire restaurant blew my mind. We plan on coming back to Gulf Shores again, and this will absolutely be on the list of things to do once again.

It was amazing honestly! It was literally our first restaurant we have ever taken our 1 and a half year old to eat at since she was born. We came early around 11:30 to 12:00 for lunch. We were able to take our daughter outside to play while we waited on our food. She and our son had a blast playing in the foam!! Our waitress Ardis was fantastic by the way! She has a son our daughter's age, so she knew exactly what would entertain her. She brought a little shark for her to play with and she loved it. :)
Oh and the food was awesome as well. We had the Hang 10 burgers and my son had chicken tenders. All of it was great. We also got the fried pickles for an appetizer and they were the best fried pickles i have ever eaten. They weren't just the small sliced pickles....they were length cut fried pickles! Trust us and go while you are down here on the coast. :) There is so much for kids and adults to do or you can just simply enjoy a good meal!

We had a party of 13 and Andria was our waitress. She was quick to greet us and engaging from the beginning. She asked where were were from from and very pleasant to speak with. She asked questions and was genuinely interested in our answers and conversation. She was an awesome waitress. Quick and responsive to all of our needs! Our service was phenomenal!

Overall it was a fun place and kid friendly. Definitely a cruise ship vibe... good fun for tourists. I doubt locals go much if at all. The food was good, but pricey for what it is. You’re paying for the atmosphere/entertainment. I liked the whiskey mule I got. The “extra shot” is only about half a test tube’s worth, though (that’s what it comes in). Our server was nice but I felt like she really rushed to get us up and out likely because they do the same act every hour. They had live music outside which was nice. One thing that really bothered me was they would not give us a cup of water outside without more $$$. Refused. $1.50 bottle, or small plastic cup with a sip for $1.50. I know that seems petty, but we had just spent over $100 on our meal for 4 inside and then also bought a few drinks outside for even more money. Just wanted a small cup. It just made it even more obvious how much of a money grab the place is. Go in with the mindset of amusement park and take your own water.
