“When you drive into the parking lot you smell the hickory smoker. That sets the expectation of what your meal will be. This has to be the best BBQ place I have tried so far. Get the pig wings and you will never want ribs again! Juicy, full of flavor and simply the best hickory smoked pork you can find! The sauce isn't too sweet, and it has the right amount of spice. Not enough to make you grab for your drink, but enough to let you know it is there. Compliments the pork perfectly. The sides are good too, and the banana pudding is homemade. We will be back for certain!”

“Only had catfish, which is what I wanted anyway, so, yea! Very good taste, with perfect amount of cornmeal. Fries were pretty typical crinkle fries. Baked beans were separated from the fries and fish which was a very good idea. So food, I give 3-1/2 stars. I'll edit when I try the BBQ. But, the PEOPLE!! Not just the folks working there, either. The customers were even nice! They came in smiling, speaking to other customers, and one even came left smiling even though they had run out of food until the bbq was ready! THAT says more than anything to me.”

“I didn't get to experience the dining aspect of this Old Town Eatery, because they seem to have odd hours of operation, but I did enjoy the visual aspect of the location. I absolutely love the architecture of Main Street in Jemison, the old style buildings of a forgotten time, it's a treasure of American history if you enjoy those type things. I went an walked along the use to be store fronts an peer into the old buildings trying to get a glimpse of what they use to be. I do however plan to go back to the Old Town Eatery an get a taste of the food an no doubt southern experience”

“This is a small Mom and Pop Shop run by a couple of hard working people. We stopped in one Saturday afternoon and they were sold out of the brisket we wanted. They told me that they were cooking more and when it would be ready. They apologized for the brisket not being the best because it had to cook faster than normal. It was GREAT! The side items were also good. The beans are a special blend of navy and pinto beans cooked with their own blend of spices and brisket and sausage. They have gluten free desserts but, we'll try them another day. Overall, very pleased. There's no seating everything is to go.”
