Got to love Jim N Nick's! The food is awesome and the staff is great! Those cheddar biscuits are the most addictive thing I've ever had! I always enjoy coming to any Jim N Nick's!
Had a decent experience there this evening. The service was great. Our server was personable and took care of us quickly. We got seated fast. The food is just ok. The meats are bland and need sauce to be considered good. I had a two meat combo with brisket and baby back ribs. I asked for lean meat specifically because I don't like fat. While they accommodated my request, it was still fatty. The ribs were tender and easy to pull off the bone. The biscuits were yummy. The mac n cheese was tasty. Collards needed hot sauce but were good. Overall this location is better than the Montgomery location, but I've definitely had better barbecue.
Reviewing only the Drive Through experience:
Great quality of food and an excellent choice for dinner with available drive through (but expect much higher prices due to great quality of food compared to other drive through restaurants). The 3/5 rating stems from two very consistent issues:
1). The awful level of customer service provided at the order point for the drive through and at the payment/pickup window I've experienced every time. Never have I had a pleasant experience interacting with any employees operating the drive through.
2). The extremely long wait times at the drive through have caused me to leave twice. I don't come here very often, maybe 6 to 8 times a year, but every time I've experienced this whether there's one car ahead of me or six. In the two instances where I drove off, I sat in the same position in line for 20 - 25 minutes before finally giving up.
TL/DR - Excellent option for a drive through meal with fantastic quality of food, but with that comes much longer wait times than other options and deplorable customer service.
Great staff, clean restaurant and pretty good food. Really for a BBQ place, the biggest draw here is the price. Very reasonable main dishes and sides. The meats were pretty good, no real complaints but I've had better. Cheese biscuits are great, baked beans and potato salad were good. Decent selection of beer on tap and cocktail options as well. Cozy atmosphere and everything else will probably have me coming back sooner rather than later!
