This is our first time at the new location and does Chris Hastings and team deliver. We were able to get on the wait list for a table on Valentine’s Day. It was a prix fixe menu. All 4 courses were excellent. The “shrimp and grits” were particularly good. I had the “chicken fried steak” which was wagyu steak with deconstructed fried accoutrements. It was excellent. My husband had the the groupWe special which was good but a little bland. The chocolate strawberry dessert was absolutely fantastic. Our server was attentive.
The customer service was amazing. They are so professional, I liked their hospitality. Besides their service, they also offer delicious food. Special foods include Beet Salad, Elton's Chocolate Souffle, Simple Grilled Fish, Beef Tartare, etc.
Anniversary go to spot for amazing food from a top notch chef! Valet and delicious eats. Dress up or come casual dressy.
First, we have been trying to get here for 2 years. We travel through Birmingham on the way to Memphis to see our daughters but always on a Sunday or Monday when they are closed. This time we made a special attempt to come through when they were actually open and were thrilled with our decision. We had friends who had been and told us how fabulous they thought it was and we had to go.We went Tuesday night and asked to sit at the Chef's Counter. You get to watch the chefs work their magic and even ask questions about the preparation of the dishes. We started off sharing the tomato appetizer and the fried okra. They were both outstanding.
Staff very attentive. Food was good. Disappointed with the tomato stack salad which is why we specifically went back this year. The tomatoes were "mushy ." The rest of the meal was very tasty. Unfortunately an individual at a table near us was impressed their their supposed importance and talked insistently and VERY LOUDLY. We were glad to finish our meal and leave.
