Birmingham staple. I have four stars since the food can be a little inconsistent — sometimes Great, sometimes, “mehhh”. Still worth going back. Even on a bad day it’s still better than Purple Onion. They seem to go through a lot of staff, which probably has something to do with the inconsistency. Better odds during the day than evening. Very reasonably priced.
Driving through Birmingham - stopped to have lunch and wanted a place that wasn’t a string of fast food chains. Looked up bakeries as it was 11 am and we found this place - and it is very good - great hummus and baba ghanouj. Very good pita - very good Greek salad - tart dressing. I would call it a very good place - not the best Lebanese food I’ve had but truly very good. Tasted authentic. Has a nice store in back that has many essential middle eastern ingredients too. Has shatila sweets - brought in from michigan - and very good - although not made in house - they have chosen a good bakery to get them from.
Their pita pizza is the best! So flavorful! Good hummus too.
Great food and large portions. 1st time there but will go back soon. If you like Mediterranean food try this place.
I did not eat in the restaurant, but I bought some market items. This is a great middle- eastern market that has many items that I can't find anywhere else. Of course, his pita bread is made fresh on site and is the best.
