Red Pearl Restaurant

A must visit hidden little gem. Its one of my favorite places in town. Some real exotic dishes, and the prices are very reasonable. Service has always been good. And they now have some better english speaking servers. So that really helps folks who aren't regulars. If Chinese food is your thing, the Red Pearl is definitely a place to add to your list.

This is an asian food market and a restaurant. They have good Asian groceries and sweats but the restaurant is the real gem here. They have amazing food. All the soups are just yummy. The dishes are so good I went with a friend and we ordered half the menu. every flavor was perfectly balanced. Some of the spicy dishes were spicy... but so good!

Fantastic food! Oh wow! Haven't had Asian food this good since Chinatown in San Fran! Chicken fried rice, shrimp with snow pea leaves & veggie sei fun (sorry for probably spelling wrong). Oh my goodness. Can't wait to go back. They have lunch combo specials too....cant wait to go back

My son lives in Birmingham, so I have been visiting quite often, even though I live over 100 miles away. He introduced me to this restaurant about 2 years ago...I was blown away. Have not tried everything on the menu because it is to extensive, but what I have tried (about 20-25 dishes) is absolutely delicious. The hot & spicy blue crab is delicious, but too much work to remove the crab, so the next time I requested the hot & spicy blue crab seasoning, but prepared with shrimp...WOW! That may be the best dish I have ever eaten. Also, when you are in the waiting area, check out the daily specials which are written on a huge chalk board...you'll fine some real treasures. Try it one time and you will be back.

I order takeaway from here at least once a month, even though I live forty minutes away. Best Chinese food in Alabama, possibly the best Chinese food outside of Atlanta in the Southeast US. I've dined all over Asia and the food here is pretty authentic, as close as makes no difference. Excellent selection of wines and pretty good selection of beer, usually one of the best selections of sake in the state as well. I've dined-in here a few times and service is usually acceptable, not any worse than any other restaurants in the area (excepting perhaps some of the more upscale places). The food here is just so good, I wouldn't even care about quality of service.
