Hildegard's German Cuisine

Fabulous German food and excellent service! The food is a bit pricey for the portions you get, but what you do get is wonderful! Definitely try their Liver and Onions!

Best German food ever! We had Goulash (beef tips with gravy over spaetzle), German potato salad, red cabbage, white bean and ham soup, and basket of breads and rolls including some sweet ones. Everything was excellent and plentiful. They have several desserts, but alas, we had to skip them, as we were stuffed. Large menu with several German beers and wines, which we also sampled. Highly recommended.

Spicy Goulasch was a table favorite (personally, I think it just tastes like vegetable and beef gravy, but it IS German food...)Dessert: I don't think you should leave without trying a slice of their house-made cake! The coconut cake was incredibly light and fluffy with a really amazing coconut/icing situation. The lemon cake was good but not AS good. I'll need to try chocolate next.

Great food and service. I was in the mood for some great German food and Hildegard's really delivered. Popular with both travelers and locals, reservations are a good idea because the restaurant does a brisk business. That said, walk-ins are welcome. Will definitely go back next time I'm in Huntsville.

We had the pleasure of eating here on Saturday night. We really enjoyed this restaurant. First off, the staff did an awesome job. Our waiter was great. The food was absolutely delicious. Two of us had soup with our meal. The soups were great and my wife loved her salad. Our main course meal did not disappoint. We did also try a German beer. We were full when we finished so we took home 3 different slices of homemade cake. They were fresh and good.
We live over an hour away and we definitely will being making many more visits here.
