“Created in 1972 by Al Copeland just outside of New Orleans - Popeye’s began as a small chicken restaurant called “Chicken on the Run.” It actually failed originally - but Al wouldn’t be stopped and renamed the restaurant Popeye’s and reopened only four days later! “We’ve been to this Heroes location a few times and each time it has always been great. Came here for lunch and sat at the bar. The drinks were made just right, the bar tender was very friendly and spot on!! We got the Clipper with fries and the Patty Melt with fries and onion rings. Both meals were hot and very good!! We love the secret sauce on the Clipper. I wish I would have taken pics of the food before we dug in but we were hungry and I forgot. Lol I’ll get some next time we come which will be soon!!”
