Jim 'N Nick's Bar-B-Q

Even on a BUSY friday night (parent's weekend in T town) our server Peyton was friendly and attentive. Fresh, hot cheese muffins to start. Smoked chicken plate for my date and the special smoked prime rib for me. Delicious... never had it smoked before and it was very popular, noting a number of others around me enjoying it too. Easy to recommend Jim n Nicks. The food is always freat!

Our waitress was pleasant and helpful. The menu has lots of options (if you are vegetarian/vegan, it's disappointing but doable) and is reasonably priced. All the sandwiches we tried were delicious but the ribs my sister ordered were extremely dry and overcooked. Lots of good cocktail options and the peach tea we got was also delicious. The cheese biscuits they bring out as an appetizer are incredible. Mac and cheese was very good, as we're the mashed potatoes (chunky but also creamy, with skin left in; a bit too salty if you are sensitive to that). Good for a family dinner out or for a date night if you are not looking for somewhere fancy. A must when you are visiting Tuscaloosa.

Great service to go along with the great barbecue. As a Texan and Alabama transplant, it makes me so happy they have brisket on the menu and the night I was in Tuscaloosa I was fortunate they still had some! Plus, the portions are ridiculously sized. I guess a lot of really hungry people eat brisket.

The fries are good, too, as well as the slaw and the baked beans.

I love the little miniature muffins they bring you.
