I have been here a few times now with different people each time and we all walk away with the same mixed feelings. The food is good but it is incredibly overpriced. $9.00 for a single burger with NO sides. It’s a small, clean restaurant with a similarly small menu. I have no complaints about service or food quality but I feel the pricing puts the food in a category of restaurants that Local Roots doesn’t fit well in.
I ordered online for takeout. The order was ready when I picked it up on time. I ordered the Local Roots Burger & mac-n-cheese. Food was adequately still warm. The burger was thick pretty good. Though their style of dressing it was ..well... just not wonderful to me. It was a tad bit salty. Not sure if that was the seasoning or the cheese. The mac-n-cheese was good. The cheese they use is fairly sharp and again a little salty. I liked it but have had better. I may go back...i would probably try one of the other menu items.
Have to eat here! I got the Chicken Sandwich and Mac & Cheese. The Chicken Sandwich was super moist with a tasty crispy breading that lighter than most chicken sandwiches I eat which really let the delicious chicken take center stage. I could have gone back for 3 more orders of the Mac & Cheese. It was crazy creamy with deep flavors. In lieu of extra Mac & Cheese I went with the butterscotch blonde, I’d urge you to do the same.
Got the burgers, fries and kids tenders! Awesome quality, service, and speed! Best burger I've had in town. It's pricey but the price is fair for the high quality everything.
I have been wanting to try Local Roots food but kept missing the food truck. Now that the brick and mortar is open we tried both the burger and Yardbird sandwich. Loved both sandwiches, especially the originality of the Yardbird. The fries were also amazing - btw the order was large enough for my wife and I to split. Can't wait to come back.
