Gumbo House

Visiting from Texas and I grew up eating gumbo. I had the chicken and sausage and it was very good. Mine is better of course, but it was nice just picking this up and Not cooking all day. Not a huge fan of okra in my chicken sausage gumbo, but it was fresh and worked well. Could use more green onions, but none the less, I devoured a "bucket" in one evening. Jealous that there's always good gumbo weather up here. Staff was also very friendly.

WOW!! Simply amazing, the crawfish gumbo is what I had and it was the best one I've ever had. And I grew up eating gumbo. The cornbread was delicious as well. My son had the bbq ribs and said he wants to go back again the next day and the red beans and rice is just like they make in the Louisiana Bayou

Yum. I had vegetarian Red Beans and Rice, the kids got the gumbo and we all got cornbread...all of it so spicy good! The owner/chef spent time in New Orleans and it shows. Crawfish, catfish, shrimp...all abundantly represented on their menu. They’ve been in business for 16 years and I expect they have a loyal following with food and service this good. We saw a couple of Grubhub drivers stop in during our quick dinner, so it seems they are also a popular delivery choice. On a chilly day, who wouldn’t want a little Cajun warmth?

As a New Orleanian born and raised, I was excited to try this place to get a taste of home. The Po Boy is exactly like home. The gumbo however, not so much. I've had their gumbo twice now and it is good but I feel like it's lacking something. It still has that gumbo consistency with a good roux but my friend and I can't quite figure out what it's missing. Anyways, we both decided that It beats not having any gumbo at all.

The waiter was absolutely fantastic, very friendly & made our entire large group feel at home, the food was out quickly & very delicious! Definitely a great spot for groups & they have outside seating!
