They have been around forever and have the best food. I have wanted a club sandwich for 3 months from Gwennie's, they make the best one
Quaint and quirky, old Alaskan roadhouse charm with a sense of humor in downtown Spenard area. I recall my grandmother bringing me there many years ago and it was just as fun as ever. Waitress was a perfect fit for the place, helpful, sharp witted and a real character herself! Good burger too. :)
Great food, our waitress was so sweet and kind. Only critique would be our host caring a bit more about where she sat us. She put us in a cramped area and we asked to move (there was plenty of other available tables) but all in all, YUMMY! Eggs Benedict-SO GOOD!
Great simple old fashioned home cooking. With breakfast that served all day. One of the oldest restaurants in town. Warm and inviting close to the airport.
Whith a bar and 2 levels there are always places to sit. Friendly Alaskan service. You're probably in need a to go Box the servings are generous I have never left hungry.
Great place. Appears at first glance like it might be gimmicky, but actually has a very authentic Alaska lodge-like feeling inside. When I walked in, I was immediately reminded of Eddie's Fireplace Inn in King Salmon. It's appropriate for singles, couples, and families, and has lots of seating inside. The wait staff are very friendly, competent, and attentive. The menu is basically American comfort food with a good selection, there are some Alaska-specific add-ons - like Reindeer sausage. I ordered a Denver omelette with rye toast and I wasn't disappointed. However, beware, the portions are enormous! My omelette came with fried potatoes and together they covered an entire plate! It looked more like a five-egg omelette. The bread used for my toast was delicious. The brewed coffee was also good and they were nice enough to leave the pot. Prices are good for what you get, but are typical Alaska-expensive compared to Lower 48 prices. There is off-street parking and the restaurant is close to the airport.
