5 & Diner

Great breakfast place...... except for the fact that the building has been bulldozed and there is a small strip mall where it used to be. If they ever rebuild it, we will be back!

It WAS a great place! It is permanently closed and torn down! Suggest the 5 $ Diner Delux in Peoria, down the road. Check the hours.

Let me start off with saying I was very impressed with this establishment. My friend ordered something not even technically on the menu. (Southwestern Eggs Benedict) Our waitress seemed new so her confusion was forgiven. However, the manager came over to make sure they made it exactly how he wanted it which was very nice of him. Our food came out fast and both plates tasted great. Even the fried pickles were perfect. Not dripping in grease or over/under cook. The ONLY thing we could find improvement being needed was having our drinks filled more often. But again, I think she was new so it was forgiven. :) We will be back. Definitely a solid breakfast place. Typical diner style food, big portions and quick turnaround. The decor is fun, but seems a little out of place on Bell. Make sure you try the rye toast, I believe it's delivered in from Chompies.

Unfortunately, it's not a great lunch or dinner place. The portions are just as big as breakfast, but the quality isn't as good. The sliders I had were cold by the time they got to the table and overcooked as well. The only thing that redeemed the meal was a solid chocolate malt. However, the service has been excellent all the times that I've been. It's also one of the cheaper places to eat on Bell.
