New York West Pastry & Bake Shop

This pastry shop/bakery also makes sandwiches with the bread they make. I had a slice of tiramisu cake and their turkey and artichoke sandwich on sourdough bread. Both items were delicious. My Dad got a different turkey sandwich and some apple pockets, which he also enjoyed. The shop is cutely decorated with pink walls, tables for you to sit inside at, as well as a coffee refill station. Definitely give this place a try!

A MUST if you're in the area! Great pastries made with love and a very close taste to NY ones. Lots of free parking, lots of seats inside, and way too many delicious choices!
Come often and try everything, it's all great so no wrong choices!

I understand that the bakery is under new ownership and I took a chance to see how their cakes look. I ended up ordering my mother a strawberry shortcake birthday cake. It was made fresh on Sunday morning, just for me. I also asked for extra strawberries because I wanted to make it special.
I came to get the cake at noon on Sunday. It looked terrific and tasted even better.
Excellent job!!! Super delicious! Pricey $70 for a cake that fed 15 people. But I highly recommend ordering for a special occasion.

This bakery reminds me of the type that I had growing up in Pittsburgh. They have so many fresh items it’s hard to select. I usually buy several items especially since it’s a distance away.
My favorite are the cream horns that other places don’t offer and if they do they are not filled with cream like NYW but marshmallow.
They also offer a great cheesecake that is fluffy and not heavy. I discovered on this trip that I can call ahead of time if I want a fruit topping. They also have a cheesecake cupcake version which makes it easy for me to buy other favorite pastry and still have cheesecake. I bought a cheesecake cupcake but still purchased a pineapple upside down cake, how many places offer it?
There are so many cookies to choose from but I selected the rugula.

What a great selection of sweet treats (tortes, pastries & donuts). They also carry freshly baked breads, rolls and buns. The carrot cake is the best I’ve ever tasted. The cream cheese icing is not overly sweet and the cake itself is dense and delicious. The staff is gracious and the owner introduces herself and shakes your hand. Old fashioned service is not dead!!
