“Great family owned small town diner. A bit on the rustic kitchy side bit that's what makes the atmosphere so perfect. The place is impeccably clean (my wife is an absolute nutter who looks at baseboards and air returns) and she was amazed at how spic and span everything was. Food was great too...clean and tasty, and really quick to come out. Husband and wife owners couldn't be nicer. BUT THE PIES!!!! OMG the pies are unbelievable. Careful because she only bakes a few per day, so get there early before they're gone. Life is short so eat pie for breakfast!!!”

Because of their help at the gas station my father always stopped when passing by. 35 years ago I moved to the Foothills. My off-road group makes a Ligurta for lunch run. A highway over the hill trip for Breakfast is also refreshing. I have always been pleased with the food and service.”

“What a rare jewel in the desert is Naked Dates. It is just outside Yuma, AZ. We truly enjoyed it. The place is clean and organized and charming. The staff super friendly. The food delicious. I had a beautiful spinach salad with blue cheese, bacon and dates of course. The date balsamic dressing was unbelievable yummy. Steve had the best cheeseburger ever. He even tried a date beer. Such a wonderful visit. Even live music on the weekend.”

“You had me a shoe string fries! We stopped here for a quick bite when our other plan was closed. Clean and had good food. No complaints and left with a full belly. I had the BLT and my husband had the Club. Both were substantial sandwiches that we could have split. The bread was fresh and easy to bite. Bacon was cooked just right and was a good portion size for the size of the sandwich. Overall a very good meal.”

“I ordered the Greek salad with NO green peppers, and asked them to add roast chicken-breast. I also ordered a piece of cheesecake for dessert. The young man very carefully took my order, verified that he had it all right, and then said, "I'm very sorry, we don't have cherries for the topping on the cheesecake. May we offer caramel and chocolate sauce?" I said, "Absolutely!" It was spot-on perfect and delicious. And, even though they were busy with in-house orders as well as carry-outs, it was ready in about 7 minutes.”

“Coyote Den is part of the golf course complex. Great views and a comfortable atmosphere. It had a pretty good number of patrons when I was there with only one waitress. She was an amazing waitress who was pleasant, efficient, got our drinks, took our orders, served our lunches accurately and efficiently, refilled our drinks and met all of the needs of the entire restaurant. The menu is somewhat limited but certainly adequate. The food, my lunch, was above average and reasonably priced. I would give it a B+ or an A-. I will go back again and would recommend it.”

“I happened to be in the middle of nowhere, so I of course decided to make a visit to try out the famous Date Shake. (In all seriousness, this is a great rest stop / gas station on the way to Yuma or San Diego). Anyway, try that Date Shake! It’s super delicious and totally worth it. If you’re on the fence, get the smaller size, but I got the large and am glad I did. It had a very unique flavor. Like the other reviews said, a bigger straw would have been a bit more helpful. Definitely plan to come back if I’m ever in the area again. Thank you!!”
