El Parian Mexican Restaurant

Address: 109 S Main St, Dumas, AR 71639, USA

Restaurant

“I ate at El Parian on November 25 and had the Razorback Enchiladas, which were terrific! They are crab and shrimp wrapped in warm flour tortillas and covered in white cheese sauce (queso blanco). The traditional salsa roja and chips before the meal were better than most, because the salsa was thicker and more full-bodied. The restaurant is clean, roomy, and has modern decor, not the usual traditional Mexican stuff. Parking is available on the street immediately outside the restaurant. It is neither ample nor limited, so I will just describe it as sufficient. Being on Main Street, there are train tracks just across the street, so you may have a loud train to watch every now and then, but they don't pass through town very often. It is good to see downtown Dumas growing. This place would probably do well in a larger city like Little Rock. I understand this El Parian's is an Arkansas chain mostly in smaller towns like White Hall and Pine Bluff. An article from the Dumas Clarion (the local newspaper), says they are applying for a liquor license and hope to have Mexican drinks and beer. According to the article, "Luis Vera, General Manager, described the restaurant as authentic Mexican cuisine including Chimichangas, street tacos, and fajitas. There will be a full menu with a kid's menu, vegetarian options, and 25 combination dinners. One of their specialty [sic] will be Molcajete Supremo, which a bowl of with a [sic] chicken, steak, pork, sausage, and salsa with rice, beans and tortillas." I will be returning here often as El Parian is a breath of fresh air in a small town with limited restaurant options. This is a significant addition to the local dining scene.”

“THE best steakhouse in Arkansas! I couldn't have been more pleased. In an industry where the basics aren't provided anymore (seated with napkin/silverware & having dishes removed as you eat instead of piling up), Taylor's really knows how to provide great service (with a warm welcome) and exceptional food. I will drive 1.5 hours for their steak. Wow!”

Hubcap Dan's Burgers

Address: 128 N Main St, Dumas, AR 71639, USA

Restaurant

“This place is not well known and apparently does not advertise (that I have seen). It has been in business for about a year according to the cook when I went there. This is a good place to eat. I had a cheeseburger all-the-way, which was huge and good. All ingredients were fresh. The fries were particularly good. They used a seasoning that I can't place, but it made them slightly spicy and flavorful. They have a good size menu, and are the only place I have seen in this area that offers rabbit (three pieces with hush puppies, fries, and slaw: $13.95 as of Aug. 27, 2022). Fortunately, they are open to 9:00 on M, W, F, but only to 5:00 on T, Th. From the outside, you wouldn't know it was a restaurant except for the banners. Inside, it is cozy, sitting at most 15 people. There are lots of knick-knacks and odds and ends lying around giving it a bit more cramped than cozy atmosphere. They also sell some fresh produce and canned goods. But the place is clean. I went there on a Saturday morning about 11:00 and there was only one lady on duty, who was the cook and waitress, etc. This is a real, unexpected little gem in Dumas, where there are few restaurants. This is one of the few non-chain restaurants in town that serve burgers.”

Restaurant

“This place is a must go too place ! You must try the Duck nachos they are so amazing and a big hit.... and the dessert there is always homemade and it's some good southern cooking. If you like brunch then Sunday is a must go day ! They have a dessert table on Sundays and it always has a variety to choose from, we are talking anywhere between 4 to 8 desserts. And the people there are amazing and sweet and are quick. 😀😆 if you haven't eaten here yet you might want to go. It might be a ride to get to but it I'd worth the drive !”

Hoots BBQ & Steaks

“This place is a must stop. Really good brisket, not thin sliced beef. Chicken is moist and has a great smoke flavor. Ribs were a little tough but had good seasonings and great flavor. Baked beans were top notch and coleslaw was above average. Took a picture of the desserts, because they looked so good, but didn't try anything. Worth the drive.”

The Owl Pizza & Pub

“This is the location where Pizza Inn used to be. Overall, service was excellent! The inside looks much nicer now with the renovations. We had a thin crust and regular crust pizza. The thin crust was the best and the wings were pretty good too. They are a bit pricey, but this is the only real pizza option in the area. Would definitely return!”
