“AMAZING FOOD! So beautiful and everything is great! Good job! Hands down best Thai food place in alameda. 😤 just try to change my mind The decorations are gray and sold pillow to put your back on when sitting. Plants are vibrant and amazing to look at.”

“Great tasting, beautifully plated meals with upbeat Latine music. Someone is clearly taking pride in this place. Plenty of staff to help customers. The bar tender, waiter, and host will all interact with you and have clear roles. Drink specials and cocktails are made to attract customers and keep the drinks flowing. Outdoor seating is limited to 3-4 tables. Pictured: Shrimp corn chowder.”

“Loved the good quality authentic Japanese food. It is trendy and playing club/house music at lunch time at 1pm. I will return. Prices for lunch are reasonable. Great atmosphere even in the corner of a parking lot in Alameda. Bad location”

“This is a new restaurant that has excellent food. Not a big place, maybe 6-8 tables. You order at the counter, then you can sit and enjoy or take your order to go. The food was fantastic. I ordered fajitas, my family members ordered a torte and the enchiladas, respectively, and every one of us enjoyed our meals immensely. Served hot, good sized portions and very flavorful. We will return to this location.”

“Even though I did not order anything from Koharu Japanese Cafe, this place of business has four restaurants combined in one location. The other three are Wok Chi (Chinese), Yue Club (dim sum) and Sachi (sushi). My visit there was for a YEE (Yelp Elite Event). The business was offering a complimentary food sampler. I chose the Wok Chi and paid extra for the Yue Club. The food was excellent. The dim sum was perfect with a cup of hot tea on a rainy day (January 27, 2021). I recommend the dim sum (har gow, siu mai, xlb dumplings, etc.) Service was quick and employees were pleasant and helpful. There will be a return visits in the near future for the beef chow fun and spicy eggplant.”

“So impressed with the sushi quality! I’ve given up eating sushi in Alameda because I felt they were all the same and the quality of the fish was okay. This place is amazing and reminded me of the incredible Takeout I used to get in Japan. Super traditional and yummy! My new favorite.”

“This spot is located in the corner of Lincoln and Grand. There’s limited parking outside the cafe/kitchen but it’s ok because right now they’re only doing take-outs/pick-ups and delivery. FYI, they do have three table settings outside the cafe.... My first time here. The place has different restaurants that are co-located that you can order from at the same spot. We got the bento box from Gokiyoi, it had a variety of protein inside like fish, meat ball, egg, I think it had chicken and spicy noodle. Loved it all, would’ve tasted better if it the food was hot. But still tasty. We also ordered Curry Rice w/Ebi, Fried Tofu w/Shrimp, Matcha and Hong Kong Style Tea. Love, love, love the fried tofu! Though I tasted mostly shrimp, I still loved it, love how it was crispy on the outside and meaty inside. For dessert we had 2 samples of the Artisan Macaron one of them was Cherry Blossom. It was ok, not too sweet, taste like a regular macaroon. We want to give a shout out to Harry where we “experienced tea!” He was a delight! Very funny! Very knowledgeable about the tea as well! Keep that motivation Harry!!!”

“If you're reading some of the older reviews, you may not want to stop by. Rest assured that since new management and staff took over about a year ago, this store is now arguably the best on the island and in the area! Really. Always friendly, always sparkling clean, fantastic quality drinks, and despite working with minimal staff during the pandemic, they're quick and organized. They have done a fantastic job with their firm yet courteous handling of COVID, and as a customer, I've always felt secure and safe knowing I am entering a space that they are actively monitoring for compliance. Realistically, people should know how things run by now. Be sure you tip them well- these fine humans deserve it!”
