“Really enjoying this place. I've had a few meals because I work near by, but I've come in a few times as well now. The staff is always pretty nice. Especially the coffee maker person. Always clean tables. Lots of places to sit. The house made pickled onions on the avocado toast drive me wild! Fast service, clean restrooms, outdoor seating available. My only gripe is there are a weird amount of dogs every time I come to this place. So there's a bit of fecal visibility and noise while you eat/chat but not the restaurants fault. Definitely come check this place out. Bring your dog.”

“This is such a great place. It's design is so cute. Its a train station. It has ample seating for everyone. You always see the locals here. The food and pastries are home made. When visiting I always got moms oatmeal. I tried the chocate croissants and the cheese Danish, amazing. I tried their green monster drink. It is hethy and delicious. Everything is made when ordered so it is very fresh. The service is outstanding, some of the best customer service you can get these days. Overall rating is excellent!!”

“Bagels always taste good, coffee is good if you’re wanting a basic cup, but I had a giant hair in my nova lox! Was smushed right on the tomato and hanging out of it- gross! Everyone working had dark hair except one employee. She seemed flustered when she kept asking people what was on their order and asked me what other sandwich I had aside from what I ordered (only had one sandwich). Start with keeping all your hair pulled back, including the little side bits, and breath. I’ve never had any issue here so that’s why it’s 3 stars.”

“If you're reading some of the older reviews, you may not want to stop by. Rest assured that since new management and staff took over about a year ago, this store is now arguably the best on the island and in the area! Really. Always friendly, always sparkling clean, fantastic quality drinks, and despite working with minimal staff during the pandemic, they're quick and organized. They have done a fantastic job with their firm yet courteous handling of COVID, and as a customer, I've always felt secure and safe knowing I am entering a space that they are actively monitoring for compliance. Realistically, people should know how things run by now. Be sure you tip them well- these fine humans deserve it!”

“A great coffee shop, good brew and quick service. It's attached to the grocery store, but it opens earlier, and you can get in through the side entrance. Their coffee and espresso drinks are very good, the only downside is their pastries and baked goods are just OK. However, there is a bakery at the back of the grocery store that has excellent pastries; unfortunately the grocery store doesn't open til 8am. I wish Beanery could work out a deal to get pastries from that bakery, but I'm sure they've tried and there is some complication preventing it. For coffee however, it's definitely the best place I've found in Alameda.”

“The food is great. Love everything I've eaten here! But the wait can be very long at lunchtime. Great prices. Bring cash! This was a review for the old Vietnamese sandwich place. I have not been to the new sushi restaurant. Same name, same location, different owner, different food.”

“Fantastic brunch spot, and a great place to sit down and get some work done. The food is good and competitively priced, and the coffee is all pretty solid. Where this place shines though is its tea selection. The options are so varied and all have their purpose and flavor. Definitely not a high schooler spot, which is a big plus in Alameda! So glad Julie's is here!”

“I have visited twice the first time with a party of 8. We had a wait of about 20 minutes. The waitstaff was helpful and friendly. They took our orders and got the food out to us as quickly as possible. They did a great job making sure they got the order correct. The food was tasty. Worth the wait. The second time...the wait for 2 people was much longer. The waitstaff ignored us and the food was undercooked and burned at the same time. I guess you have to go on the right day...not a HOLIDAY!”

“This place had the best view and even better food! Every dish is seasoned perfectly, entire tongue palette heightened with each bite, and the cucumber, tomato salad is so refreshing! I absolutely love that it's owned and ran full time by the family. It feels like a real atmosphere to be alive. This is my favorite place to est in Alameda.”
