“We came to eat on Labor Day, just as they were opening, and we got a nice big table. Everything felt like it was slightly elevated from your typical sushi restaurant, while still being comfortable for families. We knew that it is the same ownership as East Ocean next door, which is our go-to dim sum restaurant, so we were excited to give their new sushi restaurant a try. I hope more of their East Ocean regulars support their new restaurant like we did because the owners are really nice and you can see that they put great effort into the new restaurant. The server gave us a complimentary edamame appetizer, which had an interesting/yummy twist with a charred yuzu, or Japanese lime to squeeze. Since there was five of us, and my kids can eat their weight in sushi, we ordered the EOS sushi platter. All of the rolls and the nigiri were delicious, some inventive items and ingredients that I hadn’t seen before, and the fish was super fresh. Our server, Grace, was friendly and attentive. She made us feel like valued customers, practically family, which having worked as a waiter in the past, I think is a huge part of the dining experience. We also enjoyed the ambience in the restaurant. The tables were nicely spaced apart in the main dining area, the lighting and decor were cozy, and there's an sushi bar in the front of the restaurant which is a must have. All in all, we had a five-star experience. We will be back soon to try the rest of the menu. Their small plates menu items looked especially interesting. I can't wait to try them all!”

“The quantity, quality, and price ratio is good. The sandwich tasted good and the service was fast. The prices were reasonable for this area.”

“Stopped by on a chill Sunday evening to grab an early bite, and I couldn’t wait to try their famous burgers. The place had a super cozy vibe, and I loved that you can see the kitchen right when you walk in – perfect for a chef like me. And guess what? They had American Ninja playing on their big TV, which made it even more fun! Now, I’m no stranger to burgers, being a part of a burger pop-up myself. I went for their BBB burger and paired it with IPA battered onion rings. Let me tell you, the burger was absolutely delicious, especially with that zingy blue cheese. The buns were nicely toasted, and the patty was grilled to perfection. Just a tiny downside - it was a bit greasy, and the presentation could’ve been a touch better. Those lettuce leaves sticking out like they’re waving hello were a bit funny! But here’s the highlight – the service was top-notch! The servers were not only on the ball but incredibly friendly too. I casually mentioned needing more ranch dressing, and they brought it right away. Huge props to the service team for making the whole dining experience extra special! Will I rush back for that burger? Probably not, but what’s got me intrigued is their secondary chef specials menu. Hot yai fried chicken and katsu curry? Now, that’s tempting! So, while the burger journey was enjoyable, I’m excited to explore their other mouthwatering options. See you there next time!”

“Almena’s is delicious!! Ordered from them twice, each and every time our guests ask who made the food! All credit to Almena’s 🙌🏽 we’ve had their jambalaya and their gumbo 😋 highly recommend!!”

“Mixed feelings about The Rake at Admiral Maltings. Let's do the positives first. - Great selection of beer - Extremely warm and helpful staff - Nice overall vibe to relax with a few friends and lots of drinks Now for the negatives...well, there was only one negative albeit a rather large one. Their BBQ is awful. Not one single BBQ order was decent. The salads were better than the meat, and the tater tots were decent, but we didn't finish any of the plates we ordered. I would recommend eating somewhere else and then coming here for drinks.”

“There's a new restaurant on the island, and it's delicious! If you can't decide between Laotian food or sushi? Why not both right?!? If you never had Laotian food, you're missing out, but don't worry Laos & Sushi Bistro got you, along with some delicious sushi. If you like Thai food, then you will love Laotian food, bc it's very similar but Lao food tends to use more lime and lean on the saltier side. The Mok Pla (Steam catfish) was my favorite dish with sticky rice. The Larb Ped and Nam Kao Tod were so tasty and refreshing with the lettuce wrap. Don't forget to order their delicious sushi, especially the lobster rolls. All the dishes were beautifully plated. Great food and awesome customer service! Check them out when you're in Alameda.”

“So happy with my experience that I had to share. I emailed on Thursday to see if they could accommodate a last-minute request for a vegan cake or cupcakes. Didn’t hear anything by Friday, so I called in the afternoon. I talked to Rebecca the baker, and she made it clear that she wanted to find a way to make it work. We ended up with 18 cupcakes in my desired two different flavors that we picked up when the store opened. They were a hit with both kids and parents, and I thought the prices were quite reasonable. Based on the quality and the fantastic service, I’ll be bringing all my orders here in the future. Thank you!”

“Really enjoying this place. I've had a few meals because I work near by, but I've come in a few times as well now. The staff is always pretty nice. Especially the coffee maker person. Always clean tables. Lots of places to sit. The house made pickled onions on the avocado toast drive me wild! Fast service, clean restrooms, outdoor seating available. My only gripe is there are a weird amount of dogs every time I come to this place. So there's a bit of fecal visibility and noise while you eat/chat but not the restaurants fault. Definitely come check this place out. Bring your dog.”

“We went in there to try them out from a newspaper coupon booklet. Great Greek fusion food. Smaller portions - no supersized anything - healthy. Nice presentation of foods on the plates. More like a bistro.”

“Found the place last minute and decided to come check it out. We ended up being seated in the private room area as the main area an bar were completely full and really appreciated that. The food was delicious and big kudos to the chef as the skin on the chicken and also the salmon were absolutely beautifully crispy. Service was also very attentive and knowledgeable. Overall was really happy to find Saltbreaker. Hope to visit soon and perhaps even use the private space for team or group events.”

“We ordered a half King Arthur's and half custom. The pizza has a sweet sauce which was thick on the pizza, making it more moist than other pizzas. I loved it! So delicious and just the way I remember eating eat my entire life. This location is extra fancy. Staff is courteous and I got my pizza in 15 to 20mins, right begore a warriors game. I couldn't ask for more.”

“I would like to give a HUGE SHOUTOUT to Ernesto who works at the meat counter at Lucky’s Alameda. A few days before Christmas, I came in to Lucky’s to order my prime rib for my Christmas dinner like I have been for the past 10 years. I didn’t recognize the employee at the meat counter, but I still continued to place my order with him. He handed me a notebook to put in all my info and the size of my prime rib. The employee checked it and said ok, your order will be ready to be picked up as you indicated here. I was happy and went on my way. Longer story short, Ernesto, out of the kindness of his heart and the greatest meat counter employee Lucky’s will ever have kept trying to contact me to tell me that they didn’t have any more prime ribs and was not getting anymore in and the other guy should have told me this. Anyway, Ernesto, being the gentleman that he is and passionate about his awesome customer service, got me my prime rib from another Lucky’s on his way into work that Saturday morning. He called me to tell me he had it and when I was ready to come pick it up. Ernesto saved my Christmas dinner for my entire family! Lucky’s Alameda is LUCKY to have Ernesto at their meat counter! I will always go to Ernesto at Lucky’s Alameda for all my meat needs! Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Ernesto! Robyn, an extremely pleased customer!”

“This is such a great place. It's design is so cute. Its a train station. It has ample seating for everyone. You always see the locals here. The food and pastries are home made. When visiting I always got moms oatmeal. I tried the chocate croissants and the cheese Danish, amazing. I tried their green monster drink. It is hethy and delicious. Everything is made when ordered so it is very fresh. The service is outstanding, some of the best customer service you can get these days. Overall rating is excellent!!”

“Macondo Colombian Fusion is the ideal restaurant for many different occasions. I think food is a way to express love and share with others, I love being able to bring a taste of Colombia in the Bay Area anywhere I go. It’s hard to describe each ingredient because they’re characterized by the richness in diversity but one think I can tell it’s all their options are made with amazing freshest ingredients. Here’s a picture of the “Quesabirria Arepa” —> Cheesy Birria with pickled red onion, Carrots, Cilantro and Consommé. There’s different options for breakfast , lunch or dinner. They also have empanadas 🤤, salads and NATURAL juice!! Please do to yourself a flavor and stop by to try out this amazing food, the problem it’s that after you try it you’ll want to go all the time.”

“Hands down the best hot dog I’ve ever had. I got the Jimmy Rollins (with a veggie dog) and it was packed with flavor. The sauce was perfect with the toppings. You would never have known it was a veggie dog! Hot dog and crispy tater tots on a chilly day, what more could you ask for? Highly recommend.”

“Best taqueria in Alameda! The simple ingredients they use is what makes this place so great. I’ve been coming here since 1999 and the super burrito is the GO TO! I’ve tried their tacos and quesadillas and those are also incredible but you’ll never go wrong with anything here. The staff are always super polite and they make you feel taken care of. I do frequent other Mexican restaurants in Alameda but when I want a burrito, Mi Burrito never fails!”

“Bagels always taste good, coffee is good if you’re wanting a basic cup, but I had a giant hair in my nova lox! Was smushed right on the tomato and hanging out of it- gross! Everyone working had dark hair except one employee. She seemed flustered when she kept asking people what was on their order and asked me what other sandwich I had aside from what I ordered (only had one sandwich). Start with keeping all your hair pulled back, including the little side bits, and breath. I’ve never had any issue here so that’s why it’s 3 stars.”

“Officially my local spot for a special occasion! Highly recommend the scallops! However, the dessert was absolutely the star of the meal! The Paris Brest and Citrus cheesecake were unlike anything I’ve ever tasted. Such a painting of flavors! The service was wonderful—everyone kind and attentive. The ambiance was also lovely. Also recommend the Lil Pick Me Up espresso martini 😋.”

“Wow!! Such delicious and fresh food!! Hands down my favorite Mediterranean in the East Bay. Everything was so juicy and perfectly seasoned. If you have never tried Turkish style cuisine, do yourself(and your taste buds) a favor and enjoy a meal here. They are new and have less reviews but the 4.9 star rating is well deserved.”

“If you love Cajun-style seafood, this is the spot. My spouse, our two boys, and myself just finished eating a ridiculously huge feast for $130. Fresh oysters, fried calamari, catfish, a huge seafood boil (Combo #1), garlic noodles and two sides of rice. The servers and staff are really nice and super fast. Extremely kid-friendly. Really warm vibes all around. Highly recommend this business if your family wants to have a relaxing dinner and leave in a great mood. 10/10 great addition to the neighborhood!”

“The ramen here is definitely great. I like the char on the pork belly, the different vegetables and the noodles are just the right texture. The only problem is that the broth is a little too oily which ends up leaving an aftertaste in my mouth. All in all, price is fair and the atmosphere is nice.”
