Bacheesos

Very homely, inviting, and genuinely Mediterranean restaurant. Vegan is totally possible at the buffet—see pic attached! Includes fruit, a variety of grilled veggies, hummus & pita, a delicious vegan stew (chickpeas and veggies), AND pesto pasta!!! PLUS they brought me a steaming-hot bowl of veggie soup! All food is well-cooked and delicious. The pasta was perfectly cooked.

I love their food! You cannot go wrong with the buffet or ordering out.

This was the best food I have ever had at a restaurant anywhere. We decided on the irresistible buffet, which was traditional Thanksgiving. We could feel the love in the food when we were getting our plates. The owner explained what we were to do with what, because she could tell that we didn’t know what was what. The family that ran it reminded me of my own family. It wasn’t just a restaurant, it was an experience. Everything that went into the food was organically grown. I usually can’t eat during the day, because I get tired. But I did eat here, and I didn’t get tired. Now, it’s been several days, and all I can think about is this food. I felt like a brand new person.

Bacheesos is a place you do not want to miss while in Berkeley. The cost of the food is more than fair, considering the quality which is excellent and organic. The staff member that I dealt with displayed a very family like feeling or welcoming. I will be enjoying there food again very soon.
