Crave Subs (Berkeley)

Great new sandwich shop in downtown Berkeley. They have a tonne of vegan options which is great. And the quality and service is consistent.

It's really hard NOT to draw the comparison to Ike's sandwich since it's so similar. They even put lollipops into your sandwich bag lol.

However, the big difference between Ike's and Crave is that Crave is fully halal whereas only the chicken is halal at Ike's. Crave also let's you get half sandwiches. I ended up getting 2 half sandwiches: The Iron Man Sub(pastrami) and Tom and Jerry(pulled chicken). They were both really good to my surprise! I would still slightly prefer to have sandwiches from Ike's because the dutch crunch is better but it's not that big of a deal to me. For it to be 100% with tons and tons of options, it's more than enough. I would definitely come here again.

The service was also A+. Muhammad explained that they that his uncle owns a meat shop and they get their halal meat from there which is awesome.

Delicious halal sandwiches. Whether you're starving or just need a snack, Crave offers many different options. There are half sandwich options as well as full sandwiches. Their unique Crave sauce is DELICIOUS! There is no comparison or way for me to describe the taste. There are many vegan and vegetarian options, as well as delicious vegan cheese. Best place to grab a sandwich!

An absolutely delightful place. Not only is it halal but there are a number of great options to choose from. The service is fast and the price is really affordable. No wonder it is so popular among the students.

Had the Korean fried chicken sub - even the half was really huge. The Korean sauce it was covered in was delicious. Very fresh chicken. Also got the curly fries - again even the half portion was big enough for two people. Definitely value for money.

Would love to go back and try their other subs etc. the lady at the cashier spot was really sweet and respectful too.

I've heard of Crave Subs, but they aren't as big as other sandwich behemoth and never had it until recently. Back in bay area for a week couple of new recent openings I just go when its convenient enough. As I recall this place went from chicken n' rice to all out sandwich place. It resemble Ike's except name of sandwich. Price is similar to nearby offering and you also get a mini Charms lollipop. I went with crave reuben on dutch crunch all fixings included. Good size sando they put meat on scale to weight before applying rest of fixings. I think bread was crunchy, but condensation from from wrapper made it soggy won't blame them though I ask for it to go while still hot. If you ask if I like it? I do like it, hot pastrami and swiss cheese melted together on toasty roll. Thousand island sauce can be a bit too much, but cole slaw was plenty.
