Noodles Fresh | Berkeley CA Chinese Cuisine

It's been a while since I been to Noodles Fresh in EC, but happy to see them open one down the road from me. I miss walking in from the back parking lot at EC it was really convenient. This location don't have a parking lot, it's metered parking unless you have a placard. I've been watching and hoping they open before heading back to vegas, but that didn't happen and now with SIP all I can do is takeout. Decor is modern with television and a six person bar counter and open kitchen can see the action anywhere you are seated.

I phone in order and pickup in person since I don't do third-party delivery for personal reasons. Service was good only one girl answering phone running back and forth handing out order for pickup. She was multitasking with the help owner both working FOH together getting order out. I got the guilin beef tendon soup during lunch special wanted noodle soup, but it was too warm today. Once the lid pop open I knew it was going to be good rice noodles were in strands not broken up easy to slurp even without broth just pour some housemade sauce and mixed well. Beef shank & tendon taste really good soft slippery texture full of flavors would eat all day if I have to. Food is freshly made with ingredient-focused chef at the helm certainly not made on-the-fly and forget about it type pf place. They even gave roasted peanuts (comp) at no extra cost. Will return once covid-19 SIP is lifted.

Hainan chicken rice is good. Service us fast and kind.

My girlfriend and I came at around 4pm, and were greeted by a very calming atmosphere inside. The ceiling is high, the piano jazz is not too loud, and the open kitchen format makes the whole place feel a little more lively. It was a cool experience to watch our food being made from the other side of the restaurant. Made the whole place feel pretty classy, but not inaccessible.

We ordered the Hainan Chicken and Jiang-de noodles, and they arrived within 8 minutes of ordering. Both were quite tasty without being too salty (salty is a common criticism I have for Chinese restaurants around Berkeley, but not this one).

In the Jiang-de noodles, the bitterness of the cabbage cuts through the sweetness the bell peppers and sauce contain, and the chicken is not dry at all, while the whole dish strikes a good balance with its spiciness.

I’d highly recommend the Hainan chicken. I’ve been craving a place around Berkeley that can make it well, and I noticed that this place has an $8.95 lunch special for the hainan as well (M-F 11:00-2:30ish), which is a great deal for Downtown Berkeley.

Really tasty noodles and Hainan chicken !! Super fast and attentive service, classy and relaxing environment, and most importantly great flavor. The prices are just right for the area. Really happy with everything we got. The matching uniforms, abundance of beautiful flowers, and decor are all so cute and show attention to detail. Can't wait to come back to try more dishes ????
