I am certainly no stranger to Fish & Bird especially with B-Dama and a couple of sushi joints that they run. I knew they were coming to berkeley, but I was already back home in vegas when it was soft opening. Now that I'm back in bay area every place is doing takeout due to covid-19, bad luck for me again. Should've try them during soft opening at least you get to dine-in before this covid-19 pandemic became a reality.

This time around I knew I had to make the splash before state of nevada open up and #BRWToGo event was perfect. I persue online four-course menu marked off miso pork belly, saba shio yaki, takikomi gohan, and asahi beer the rest is unchanged since it's prix fixe menu. They have a pick-up window with wait time around fifteen minutes depending on your size of order. As soon as order was handed over, I rush home knowing that condensation will set soon.

Each box was perfectly portioned for USD$25 I'm not complaining labor and ingredients is being considered. Pork was glistening and appealing, but it was almost turning to solid fat pieces so I pop in microwave and reheat. Pork was okay, but too much fat and too chewy although miso flavor was barely noticeable. Saba shio yaki (mackerel), I like it very much being boneless grilled with fresh lemon that actually gave some citrus flavor. The salad trio was alright, one is kobocha squash which I really like, the other two was house salad with homemade dressing, and one that I forgot which was creamy white in color. Gohan rice was quite good with extras mixed in. Matcha pudding was tasty not too sweet, but not biting had real high grade matcha powder in it. Wash everything down with a can of asahi beer and dinner was done. Will be back for dine-in when they work out social-distancing details.

Very nice local Japanese tapas spot, with great drink selection. Duck tataki is a bit, as well as their unique, hand pulled chewy thin udon.

The chrysanthemum salad has just the right amount of tart savoriness to pair well with sake

We went on second day! Fabulous new places for our rotation of restaurants.

Great food, authentic! Great service, the person at the bar was kind and on point! limeade was delicious! But the cocktails looked beautifully crafted.

Decent price for great and delicious food.
Chicken karage plate is a great portion!
    Crowded for second day!
