Ramen 101

Mixed feelings. Its like a cross between a Japanese Ramen with Vietnamese Pho. If you are looking for authentic Japanese style Ramen, you will be disappointed. However, if you like thick cut of pork and lots of bean sprout and bamboo in your soup base then this is the place for you. Unfortunately those ingredients changes the taste away from Japan's styled Ramen.

Really good Tonkotsu Ramen!!! Every place has their own variation and I really like this recipe. I really liked the spicy ramen. We also ordered fried chicken wings and grilled whole squid. Both were also great. This is the format that restaurants need to move to. Counter ordering and in this case they bring the food to table. Food was delivered fast without the need to wait for a waiter.

Ramen 101 has some of the best ramen for a affordable price. I miss the happy hour that they used to offer but I still find myself coming back again and again. I like that it's so fast and easy to get the style I want. The area also offers a lot of other places around for a good dessert.

Just wanted to say thank you for the waiters serving my takeout today.

I ordered via phone, they told me would be ready in 20min, so I arrived at the expected time, it turned out the waiter couldn't find my order record, I was super mad and my anger all showed up on my face, the waiter gave me 30% off and said sorry, and I accepted the apology, I was expecting I had to wait for next 20min, but surprisingly one of the waiters even sent out the food to me in 10 min when I was waiting outside the door. I think their problem handling was awesome, even if some colleague made mistake beforehand, the rest of people did a good job to make it up. This is not very common in a popular restaurant in the bay area. Great job ????

BTW, this restaurant has been one of my favorites in the area after I moved here 1 year ago, and this is my only time having this missing order problem.

The service here is super fast. The menu who is a bit limited to Ramen noodles and a few other items. But what they do have, they do pretty well and the prices are very reasonable. It's not very large so if you go during Prime hours, expects a wait.
