Ikaros Greek Restaurant

The food is good compared to most other Greek places I've been to. I guess some would say it's overpriced but they give you pretty large portions of food depending on what you're ordering... I'll continue to come back as they're the best Greek place I've been to in Oakland.

A super reliably good place! The classic gyros are so good. They also have a parking lot attached - super helpful for the busy Grand Lake area.

George the owner (handsome man in the middle) and the staff are excellent!

May have been an error on our part that we didn't realize the grilled salmon would be more on the blackened side, being used to more moist baked salmon. I mentioned this to the waitress who said she'll see what she could do to help since we had started eating it. Then to our pleasant surprise she came back and said they are preparing the salmon the way we like it. Then George the owner came to ask about the salmon and we explained. He was very understanding and accommodating. The spanakopita, vegetables, rice pilaf were just delicious and the salmon that came after was perfection!

The broccoli was exceptionally good! I don't know what about it, but both my nephew and i found it ever so flavorful!

Enjoyed ambiance and cleanliness of the place. It's nice when the music is just right so you can enjoy the listening and have a conversation.

It’s a great spot for a sit down dinner with friends! The atmosphere is lively, the food is fresh, and the service is amazing. I love the crab-artichoke dip with bread, the grilled octopus with balsamic vinaigrette, and they have a special on mussels this month. It’s a little more on the expensive side so I can’t come too often but definitely come with friends to enjoy a good Greek meal!

The gyro stacked btw- is HUGE.

I am so sorry, I meant to put 5 stars instead of two! A mistake on my part! I really love eating at your restaurant, and your steak fries are delicious!! One thing I would have to mention is when you get really busy, your portions in general tend to get smaller, especially with side dishes or fries. Also, maybe adding just a lamb gyro instead a mix of both beef and lamb for those allergic to beef? Just food for thought.
Anyway, the atmosphere is wonderful! Your employees are very thoughtful and pay good attention to your customers! Love going to your restaurant! Hope to visit again soon!!! :)
