“Benchmark Portavia is my new go-to for a quick bite. I walked in this past Sunday for the first time and discovered that they sell half-price Day Old sandwiches (one mozzarella and one prosciutto). If you are looking for a very quick, cheap bite, that is what you want to get! They are very tasty, simple, and filling. There is a little area near the establishment with benches that I like to sit at when I get food. I have walked in at least three times this past week. Service is also very nice and welcoming, which I have found hard to find since moving to the El Cerrito/Albany area. This is my new favorite local spot.”

“Always a wonderful experience and great food. Certainly one of the best Caesar salads around. Some nights they may be a bit understaffed if it's unusually busy, but service remains attentive and gracious. Tuesday is free corkage; Thursday is free appetizer with wine purchase. Save room for the soft serve ice cream (with see salt and olive oil).”

“I was taken here on a burger outing by a friend of mine a local locksmith, with a deep knowledge of burgers. We ordered the regular hamburger, and I told the waitperson to cook it "Juicy" at which they knowingly smiled, (A good sign) and it came to our table fragrant, sizzling, juicy, and perfectly rare in the middle). The Cheddar Chuck Burger, was amazing, and the garlic fries, often done sloppily at other places here, has a fresher, and more herbal kick to them. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and I'll be back!”
