Chart Room Restaurant

My wife and I went here for dinner while in crescent city. We ordered the fried calamari for an appetizer, which was good. Then my wife ordered clam chowder for her meal, that was really good as well. I ordered the grilled salmon filet, it was very mediocre, I had to put the sweet chili sauce from the fried calamari dish on it to eat. It just had minimal flavor and was cooked well done. Overall, we had a good experience despite the salmon.

There were probably 100 or so sea lions out front of the restaurant and they were singing, that was a cool added bonus!

Food was nice but the management and organizational stuff was really bad. We were asked to wait for someone to take us to a seat, but then another waiter came and thought we were taking out. Communication between waiters was just not working.

We ordered fish and chips, mushroom burger, seafood combo, half grilled crab sandwich with a cup of chowder, fried oysters, and peach cobbler.

Everything was delicious, but really hoped that we didn’t have to go through the mess before we get our lunch.

It was busy: we arrived at 6pm and waited for 30 minutes before seated. Fish and chips were great, so was grilled seafood combo. Service is good, especially considering how busy it was. Price is reasonable. Clam chowder is not as tasty as I expected

So being from the opposite side of the country and three plus hours from legit fresh seafood, the Chart Room was a treat beyond all measure. It was as if the fish went right from the net to the fry pan! And don't get me started on the clam chowder! Very good size quantity for the price... especially by west coast standards. Clean, eccentric interior to be expected of a fish dive. Offered live entertainment as well...a top notch view of dueling sea lions. Friendly service and very quick flash to bang in order to deliver. Highest marks to the Chart Room!

I really enjoyed this fish place. It had its own unique old school tasting fish. The portion sizes were great so you definitely get your money’s worth. The staff were nice but didn’t come around enough if you needed anything. You also have a beautiful out of all windows here so that made it nice and relaxing. The sea lions right outside the door smell a lil so you sometimes catch wind of them. You can tell it’s a old restaurant but it fits in just right. I definitely loved it and want to go back.
