“Excellent food, amazing staff, and great atmosphere. This is the place to go if you really want to experience a phenomenal dinner surrounded by historical architecture. Their waiting staff are also beyond friendly and accommodating. They’ll do their best to accommodate the customer and are very attentive. Whenever I’ve gone here my water and drink glass have never gone empty. Then the staff clearly work together to clear tables as fast as possible. Count on a dish leaving the table the minute you’re done with it. Can not recommend enough!”

“Nice and super attentive servers. Good food. The tofu teriyaki is a bit sweet, but the texture is very interesting, I've never had tofu made like that anywhere else. My dinner bento box comes with a spicy tofu roll which tastes amazing, and a salad which is supposed to have shrimps but they skipped it even though I didn't even ask. I guess they figured that out themselves because I ordered all vegetarian items. They sat us right next to the fish tank because I took a picture of it first thing when we walked in. I love it when people detect these subtleties. The bathroom is shared with a hotel, clean and well stocked, and it requires a code to enter.”

“Nori sushi grill is my favorite sushi spot that I have found in the arcata area so far. I have been here a dozen times over the last year. They have a large menu of sake and wine options. Their food menu is filled with amazingly flavorful choices. I really enjoy the salmon skin salad and tempura calamari. They have many options for unagi (freshwater eel; my favorite). They can be busy on the weekends and evenings, but have usually been fairly quiet for lunch. I will keep coming back.”

“I used to love going to Smugs with my friend Wesley. We lived at the end of 10th and Q and we would just walk on up there. But back then the slices were $1.25 and maybe $1.50. Delicious pizza I highly recommend it. And then if anyone wants to open a Pizza by the slice joint with me I’m game! I want to serve some beer with it too, so we would have to get a beer license.”

“I'm always on the hunt for vegan frozen desserts; not the biggest fan of sorbet, but they always have one vegan flavor. The watermelon sorbet blew me out of the water in terms of texture and flavor. “First time eating here. The sushi is good, good for arcata or Humboldt county I guess. The rolls are loaded with rice, but still pretty good. We got a pork appetizer and it was not that good. It was barely warm and was basically a pork chop with teriyaki sauce. Not pork belly at all. If you have a craving, this spot will do. All in all, I don't think I'll eat here again.”

Grilled pork and chicken is $18 for one piece of meat. The tom yum large looks like a medium for $17. In fairness it tastes good just too pricey. “Really amazing and sweet friends I have made during my trip to Eureka. I was at the Redwood Curtain Brewing Company and had amazing time. Carter and Kelsey helped me out with the beer choice and we had some great food at South G Kitchen food truck that was at the same place. Lupe and Danny customized the shrimp how I wanted it to be and both their shrimp and chilly sauce were perfect! I would definitely recommend this place when you are at Arcata.”
