“great burgers from a hidden shack - juicy, saucy and fresh. got the jalapeno and Cajun cheeseburgers. jalapeno was better with the flavor pop with the spice complementing the fresh lettuce and onion well. Cajun burger was sopping wet before I was half way into it haha. street parking and parking lot available. outside tables only.”

Ivanhoe Hotel, Restaurant & Saloon

Address: 315 Main St, Ferndale, CA 95536, USA

Restaurant

“The service was 'okay' and the veggies were a bit solid... BUT... but... the rest of the food was truly outstanding!! Spicy garlic prawns came with a sauce so sublime we used our calamari and ordered extra bread (warm and crispy) to soak it up! Great clam chowder and steaks cooked to perfection. Other little niceties included a bowl of extra parmasan and a bowl of croutons. Good wine too. All in all, a top meal. Definitely worth a trip.”

Ferndale Pizza Co.

Address: 607 Main St, Ferndale, CA 95536, USA

Restaurant

“Fantastic! Great service that is friendly & makes the customer king! AND I think is only 2nd pizza I've had in all of Calif where it had GREEN OLIVES! Seems west of the Rockies this is almost nonexistent! So the COWBOY [pepperoni, salami & Canadian bacon] was even better yet for me! Granted the olives added extra salt but would be fine had I still not have to drive 4 hours home in work van so I cannot drink beer! Lol!”

“An enjoyable delicious lunch. We met the gracious owner “Glory” (says her parents were hippies), who stopped by our table to ask how we were enjoying our lunch.”

“Amazing pie...dangerously amazing. Sell by the slice as well as whole pies with pre order. Other pastries as well as soup and sandwiches. Owner is really nice. Worth a trip to Ferndale...awesome community.”

Poppa Joe's

Address: 409 Main St, Ferndale, CA 95536, USA

Restaurant

“Best breakfast of our 11-day road trip through northern California. Basic breakfast food, but well-prepared and large portions. Very friendly service. What's most fun, though, is just being here, in a decades-old restaurant, with a group of locals playing games in the back. Definitely plan to stop here whenever you visit Ferndale.”

VI Restaurant

Address: 400 Ocean Ave, Ferndale, CA 95536, USA

Restaurant

“Service was impeccable! Food not so good. I don’t usually write negative reviews but locals warned us the food would not be good and we should have listened. Beef soup was very bland and required lots of salt and pepper. Clam chowder was LOADED with butter and floated on top of cream and that is pretty much all you tasted. Oysters had way too much mignonette sauce on the actual oysters. It should have been on the side. The mignonette sauce had too much vinegar. Fish and chips: fish was dry and batter was so so. French fries over cooked and some fries were freezer burned. Just to be clear the staff was VERY friendly and helpful and the atmosphere was charming. Food was a disappointment. In my opinion just get a drink at the bar.”
