“Great service, and the food was delicious. I had the rare steak pho(the broth really didn't need anything added, it was perfect for my taste) , and shared a pork belly Bánh mì (this was so dam good, the baguette was so soft, buttery and flaky, the pork belly was tender and so flavorful). I also had one of their signature drinks, the lemon grass blue berry lemonade, THAT WAS SO refreshing!! It was little sweet, but it works out because I just sip and pour a little water, and got more bang for my buck. We also tried their spring rolls with peanut sauce. It was BOMB! We are definitely coming back and telling our friends and family about this location.”

“A new Vietnamese food addition to the food street on Main Street in Alhambra. It was very convenient to park indoor behind the restaurant. The decor of the restaurant is very modern with industrial feel. the ordering menu is very refreshing as well. Dishes are arranged in types of food group. For pho, there are several popular items such beef combo, ribeye beef, oxtail and more. for rice lovers, BBQ pork and beefs are the most ordered dishes. Since this was our first time here, we wanted to try something different from the normal Vietnamese food. We got oxtail pho and burnt end BbQ pork bun. The oxtail pho came in two separate bowls with oxtail and soup in one and the pho noodle and soup in another. There meat on the oxtails were very tender and flavorful. The pho soup was quite good and authentic. Although the noodle seemed to be made from dry noodles, the over all pho experience was not too bad. The Bun salad was a bit ordinary and nothing to write home about. the BBQ porks that came with the dish was not too flavorful and not inspiring. Overall, this is a decent Vietnamese restaurant and a good alternative to Golden Deli down the street.”

“Zelle or cash only. Small nothing fancy. The food is very traditional, i saw the lady making everything as we ordered. The steam and fried dumplings were my favorite. The seafood pork bun was good but the smell was very strong, ha! I'll recommend to get a different ingredient if you are too sensitive to smells. They can get very busy so be patient or just do a pick up order.”

“New Thai place that is great so far. Seems like the owners are somehow related to a Thai restaurant up near Sacramento, CA, which is a good sign. Food is pretty good. We spontaneously decided to eat here when we were walking by. We ordered a green curry (rice is an extra order), a Thai milk tea, and a Guay Tire Ruar (the boat noodles they call it). Thai milk tea - Sweet. Too sweet for my tastes. Still good. Pricing is good too so I don't mind that I ordered something way too sweet for my tastes. Green Curry (medium) - Flavour is very good. Unlike most green curries, the flavour is strong and not diluted. You can clearly taste coconut milk and the curry paste. Amazing. A bit disappointed that rice is an additional side order (+$2) though. Would've been nice to not need additional order of rice since all the sections (outside of a la carte) comes with some sort of carbs. Serving size is... a bit small if your expectations are normal American sizes (a lot). I think the serving is perfect to feel satisfied, but when you compare it with the average portion size on the area, it is a bit small. Guay Tiew Ruar (the boat) - essentially it is a beef noodle soup. For non-thai folk, the flavour is a kind of like a fusion between taiwanese beef noodle soup and a Vietnamese pho. I really like it. Flavour is really good and strong, and the spice level is reasonable for a western audience. Portion size is the same story as the green curry. I think this applies to all items here. We ordered some salads as takeout the next day and had similiar thoughts. Good price, smaller than average portions (but enough to feel satisfied), and good, strong flavour. Service was really good. The people were friendly and attentive. Way better than what you would expect from the area. Store location is pretty small. Sore only have 7-8 tables of 2-4 people, so don't expect to easily sit a group of 8 here. The store seems to be pretty new, and the first few months is the most turbulent time for a restaurant. Hopefully the good times continue on! :)”

“Food was DELICIOUS!!!!! The owners were very nice and attentive, as if I were visiting a friend’s house and having her food. This place is recommended. It was fabulous. I love the beef noodle soup, chicken soup and also the side dishes. The dish is big, I am really full. Loooooove it!!!!”

“They have the freshest sweet shrimp in town, crunchy and full of freshness, never slimy. Chef Alan and his staff are super professional, friendly welcoming. If you are ready to pour, they are ready to toast. 😄 It's always a great time when you visit Shinkai. Our host Joe is the nicest guy and full of hospitality.”

“The only place I have tried that comes close to what real Korean fried chicken taste like. I had the wings. They were crunchy on the outside, but very juicy on the inside. I ordered Gangnam style and spicy Galbi wings. They were both amazing. I ordered through Door dash and it took 30 minutes to get delivered, but they were as good as if they just came out of the fryer. Next time I get a chance to eat here again I will try the whole chicken.”

“This restaurant should earn more recognition because the foods are surprisingly good 😊! It's currently one of my fav sichuan style restaurants in SGV ✨ The foods are too spicy for some of my friends and this restaurant does not ask us how spicy we want the dishes to be. So if you like spicy (like numbing spicy 😆), then this place is for you. Foods that we order: - Toothpick lamb 🐑. As someone who is pretty sensitive with the smell of lamb meat, I must say that this restaurant manages to minimize that smell 👍🏻. Not my favorite, but it's good! My friends love this dish and say its one of the best toothpick lambs they've had. Meat is perfectly cooked and seasoned. It's flavorful and spicy 🥵. - Chong qing fried chicken 🐔. I loveeeee their chong qing chicken! I somehow do not see any peppercorns, but it still makes my tongue numb (a good numb HAHAHA). Perfectly crunchy and juicy! MUST ORDER! 🫶🏻 - Serrano pepper beef 🐮. The beef quality is excellent. The broth is amazing especially when poured to the rice, it tastes like Maggi sauce 😂. I lovee the bean sprouts underneath the beef, it gives extra texture to dish. 🤤 - Spicy roasted fish with red pepper 🐟. We come to this restaurant for this fish, but this fish turns out to be our least favorite. Fish is very soft, but the cauliflower is not fresh. 🙃 Definitely an unforgettable numbing experience for my taste bud! Can't wait to go back 💃”

“Best Taiwanese mung bean moon cakes in town and love their food and bento boxes. Tastes delicious but homemade (tasty, healthy, and not greasy). Couple who runs it are super lovely.”

“Great service great food. The spicy stuff isn't that spicy. It's mild. Just sucks that you can't select how soft you want your noodles. I thought the noodle texture was perfect though”

“The first thing that struck me here is I think the prices are pretty reasonable! I ordered the cumin lamb dish and my friend ordered the spicy beef noodle soup. Both were super flavorful and my noodle, the very wide flat noodle, was cooked perfectly because I noticed that the wider the noodle, the more chance that it'll be overcooked and be mushy. The lamb had a distinct flavor that popped, but cumin does that, but the beef soup was balanced so that you could still taste the lambdish and not be overwhelmed by the red chili. I'm definitely coming back!”

“Visited during their soft opening and although it took a long time to get the food, the owner/manager went above and beyond to take care of us. We didn't expect anything as it was their soft opening but the staff attentiveness went far. Their hot pots are similar to boiling point but the portions felt bigger. I also loved that you can customize the spicy level of the taiwanese spicy unlike boiling point. If you are feeling like hot pot this place hits the spot.”

“This is definitely a refreshing place for this summer! With the yummy and creative sugar cane drinks, this place will take away the summer heat! Highlights of the menu: 1. Super Berry Berry Sugar cane 2. Coconut pudding bowl - customized toppings with strawberries, banana & chocolate They have many locations in LA county which very convenient to grab a drink or to hang out with friends. I love sugar cane so I would totally down if my friends ask me to hang out here. I enjoyed the coconut pudding bowl with customized toppings. They offer a lot of options! Coconut pudding is also a trend right now, love!!”

“Service: It was not busy at the time we visited but the service was slow. We ordered our dim sum and they came back like 10 minutes later with our order list with a time stamp a minute ago. And they've missed an order I checked off. Also, we asked for a glass of ice like 3 times and they brought ice water instead of ice. Dim Sum: I could tell it was prepared in house (and not frozen like most other dim sum restaurants) and I didn't get the MSG after taste. That said, if you like your dim sum salty, you should not come here. The dim sum isn't bad but it's not the best in town either. The dishes were good but not great. Their Siu Mai was huge and tasty but the sesame bun with stuffed egg yolk was not fresh (the bun tasted like leftovers). Price: We've ordered 8 dishes between the two of us and cost about $30 per person. So it is on the pricey side. Most dishes are 6-7 bucks each. We haven't tried their stir fry dishes here yet. If it's anything like the embassy kitchen on San Gabriel Blvd, it should be very good.”
