Another Burbank staple. It's cash only and you better know what you want by the time it's your turn in line. All of their sandwiches are so good but my favorites are the pastrami, cold cut and the peppersteak. Some indoor tables and padded seats or big wooden picnic tables outside.
Great sandwiches sinse 1972! It's so legit, there may even be a book about it.
If you come before or after regular lunch hours parking is much easier, but everyone knows that right?
The menu is on the wall to the right, easy to miss.
Giamela's is well worth it's weight in gold. It's a giant sandwich packed with basic, simple, and fresh ingredients. You'll only find about a dozen sandwiches here to choose from. But Giamelas has something for everyone. Bag chips and canned sodas complete the menu. Fast service. Popular with the locals. Cash only.
This hole in the wall place has been a Burbank monument for years, which means they offer great food and still accept cash only. The line moves very fast so don’t be afraid if you see a few people in line. It has a different vibe than your neighborhood Italian deli since they don’t have many options on the menu, but the sandwiches they do offer are always a hit. One kind of bread only, mayo or mustard, with onions, pickles, and tomatoes. Top it off with salt and pepper and oil and vinegar and you’ve got yourself a solid giamelas sandwich. My favorite is the pastrami although some days I crave the pepper steak. A must try for a quick pastrami fix.
Giamela's is a classic old Little sandwich spot in Burbank. I imagine nothing here has changed for many years. The menu is very small, simple and the basically serve a slection of about six or seven meats that you can create a all or large sandwich out of. They also have pickle and tomato and onion.
You can add oil and vinegar and/or pepper too. For sides they have a selection of potato chips and some can drinks. Very good in it's simplicity and very quaint.
