Smitty's Famous Fish & Chicken

Chicken cooked fresh per my order at 2 pm on a Thursday. Bold, unique good stuff. Same goes for my red beans\rice and collard greens sides. Down home Southern style food.

This place is a diamond in the rough. This is the best fried fish I have ever had. Hits the spot every time. Go here if you want a solid meal that does not break the bank!

don't let the exterior and the crowded parking lot deter you --

been a customer of Smitty's since 2006 when a co-worker introduced it to me.
we would venture from the Water Gardens off Cloverfield in Santa Monica just to lunch at Smitty's.

the breading on the fried fish is ????????. i prefer the cod over the red snapper. the fried whole chicken wings are absolutely delicious as well - flavorful & moist. AND the fries taste like McDonald's fries before transfat free oil was a thing!

i introduced Smitty's to the hubby so he knows where to get fish & chips whenever we have a craving. we ???? the food at this mom & pop shop that has regulars. i wanted to go home with a bucket of wings and fries AFTER we finished our daily lunch specials! but alas, self-control won. ????????????

this food is so good! the chicken was really delicious. i had the whiting and shrimp as well. the hushpuppies were not sweet enough for me, but still good. the collards were tender, but no flavor. honestly, the fish and chicken is what this place is all about. they gave me plenty of hot sauce and tartar sauce. the employees were really kind given i came in about 10 mins before closing. there is some indoor seating. pretty clean place. i will definitely revisit.

If you never been here before when driving make sure you drive all the way down to Wendy’s to see Smitty’s. I always get catfish and greens, the best time to get a deal is during lunch hours. You are only allowed to park for 1 hour, no drink refills and you can sit inside if you like. Enjoy
