Located in the Row in DTLA, this coffee place boasts of a great ambiance, nice decor and great staff. Originating in Sydney Australia, PCP has an interesting menu of different flavors of coffee. I settled for the almond milk cafe latte. A little too strong for me that even an extra shot of almond milk couldn’t tone down. I had specifically asked for extra extra hot coffee, but it was only tepid when I got it. I may go back and try different coffee flavors.

At first I was kind of annoyed that menu was mainly sandwiches and smorgasbord of stuff on toast (not another avocado toast....)

To my surprise the food was pretty good. My general annoyance with "toast and hipster sandwich restaurants" is what they give you is mainly an overly hard piece of toast with very little topping or a sandwich which is more carbs than any filling.

This place didn't seem to have that problem. I ordered the uni toast and the roast lamb sandwich. Both were actually quite substantial and the star of the show was the filling and the toppings which there seemed to be plenty of.

The uni toast was initially disappointing with only 2 pieces of uni. But the uni ended up being VERY fresh and really flavorful. It packed a nice punch. I was also very delighted with all the toppings as they perfectly complimented the uni and were delightful enough to eat on their own or dip in the poached egg (love dthe purple looking seaweed thing on it). So yes, get that, it's really not bad. I wish they put more uni on it......

The roast lamb was also quite good and large enough to share. Lots of meat on it. My only gripe, and it's not because it was bad, was the lamb itself was quite gamey tasting than some of the other roast lambs I've had in my life. Value wise it was quite a nice sandwich.

I really enjoyed their coffee and tea here. Ordered the cappuccino and I appreciate that it came out in a temperature that could be drank right away and not scald my tongue. Their black tea was really flavorful and peppery. I do wish they served that in a mug with a handle and not the handle-less mug as THAT was actually scolding hot and impossible to hold and drink at the same time without wrapping a napkin around it.
