El Cholo - The Original

Everyone in my party including myself had an amazing time. I love the history behind this fantastic restaurant! Food was good. I really enjoyed my tortilla soup. We were able to experience table side live music which is a wonderful added bonus to the experience. Definitely a must see when visiting LA.

The food was great! Big portions and a price was good too. Loved it. Good and quick service. Seemed like a clean place too. And the food was delicious. However i am more into more simple / less calories food. I would definitely recommend this place to try at least once.

I volunteer with Reading to Kids, a 501(c)(3) charity and every second Saturday of the month, this iconic LA Mexican restaurant provides 6 free appetizer platters to the volunteers as a thank you at the end of our reading clubs. Really, our thanks should be directed at them for hosting us. The food and drinks are always delicious. The platters are huge and piping hot. In this pic I am drinking a skinny margarita on the rocks with no salt. I just love them! Service is great. There is a fish tank behind the bar which is pretty fun. Bartenders are quick. Parking is street (credit cards accpeted) or valet, which I believe is $6. Thank you!

The best ever! I've been going here since my grandma use to take me and my cousin in 1970's. We were about 7-8 years old. Now I take my 20 year old son here to eat. A family restaurant or a great place to hang out and have drinks with girls/friends. This is the place! Great food! Great atmosphere!
