    hey foodie fam, are you craving for Chinese food? We recently stumbled upon a new Chinese restaurant in the Sawtelle area. It’s called Dan Modern Chinese, featuring hand-made dumplings ? and noodles ?, wok-fried rice ?, vegetables ? and other delicious delicacies. Our fav was the short rib dan mein for the chewy noodles ? and tender meat ?. Another hit was the dungeness crab fried rice ??. So yummy ?

    Love the shrimp noodles, scallion pancakes and cucumbers! Got the pan fried veggie dumplings, which were just OKAY, they’d be improved if they had more mushrooms in them. Will be ordering again though!

    First time google reviewer here, for what its worth. Dan has an excellent and unique taste with high quality ingredients. Definitely on a level above din tai fung at an equivalent price. Their business is oriented to the customer and it shows. I highly recommended to all.

    We were traveling from SF and got some take out from Din Tai Fung. Bad idea! The next day we got some take out from Dan Modern. Very good!! Everything was made with minimum msg and very flavorful. The owners are super nice.

    Xiao long bao - 5 stars. Juicy, fresh, super good. You can see the little twist on top which signifies quality
    Crab fried rice - good amount of crab in each bite. The short grain rice was good quality and springy.
    Short rib beef noodle - hand made udon width thick noodle, slightly sweet and savory with lots of short rib.
