Tried this place out for lunch yesterday and was really happy... Tried the pecking duck and had egg and spicy tofu as extras... Great food and friendly staff!
I'm no stranger to 煎餅, and it seems over priced for the quality. The Peking duck either was missing the plum sauce or had very little of it. Amount of content in the wrap was ok. Tea egg didn't have enough flavor. It's not that the food was bad, but I wouldn't pay $16 for the combo or even $13 for just the 煎餅 again.
Friendly staff in this nice n new location for Me + Crepe! I haven’t been to any others before, and I was excited to eat jianbing, which is like a folded egg crepe Chinese cousin to a breakfast burrito. I ate them in Guangzhou, China during business trips. Usually it was street food sold off the back of a bicycle or a small cart... awesome way to start the day.
I loved the simple one with egg, sauce, crunchy bits, luncheon meat. Definitely will be back for more! Mon-Fri they have a discount on a different flavor each day. I’ll probably try more flavors that way too!
If there's a line, be prepared for a looooong wait--they apparently cook their crepes using radiant heat from a 40-watt light bulb, or at least that's what I assume based on how slowly they come out of the kitchen. But if you sneak in at a non-busy time, you're in for a treat. The crepes are somehow both crisp and light, and the filling (I had BBQ pork) is tender and juicy.
Pro-tip: Look around at the other diners to see how to "peel and fold" the wrapper for elegant eating. Otherwise you'll be like me and make a giant mess.
