I have only tried their specialty, braised short ribs, here and it never disappoints. First ate at Sun Nong Dan in LA and I would say this location in Rowland Heights matches the quality. I would highly recommend groups to share the large order of short ribs. After everyone is finished, order some rice to mix it in with the sauce at the end. The only downside is expect a bit of a wait after you order but I can guarantee you it's worth your patience.

I came here the other day with my boyfriend to get soup and the ribs! I am so happy I tried this place out because they have my favorite purple rice! I don't know what it is about it but I love their purple rice its so good! I've been coming here quite often the past year and I have tried almost all their soups already.

My favorite is the soup with chadol or brisket slices. I really like how the broth comes out unseasoned because you can season it the way you like it. They have a breakfast special on their soups so if you're up early enough you should try this place for breakfast. It's healthy and hearty.

Last time I was there I got the galbi jjim and omg it was so good! Don't forget to add the cheese I think it makes it that much better! This dish comes with rice cakes too. I got medium and it was the perfect amount of spicy.

This place is fairly good for beef based korean stew, by nothing to go out of your way for if you have options close to home

This is the third outlet of Sun Nong Dan in LA area. Perhaps this day was an exception but the soup was more watery (clearer) than the soup at the other locations. Secondly the rice vermicelli was missing from the soup. The boiled beef slices were dry to the taste. Probably they were left outside in the air before placing in the bowl. I don't mind missing the noodles but dry beef is just awful. The kimchee, radish and chives were spot on. Keeping all 3 outlets to be consistent is not easy.

I love this place! Reminds me of home. I usually get the ox tail soup but I've heard from my friends you cant go wrong with their soups. Awesome! ????
