Meat was cold on my soup and soup base was too salty. I am planning to come back to taste sulrungtang and update my review.
Not Korean bbq, however they have some seriously authentic stuff here. Give the galbi tang a try. The service is fantastic, the staff always has a smile on their faces. They are very helpful for anyone who has never tried this sort of Korean food before.
Service is quick and the interior is modern. The beef soup was great and on a cold day, it's perfect. And for under $15, the value is there. However, avoid their "Specialty" items such as the $60 Koh Galbi Jip, a large appearing beef ribs stew with oxtail. It has excellent flavor if you like spicey, but it departs from the traditional stew-like flavor profile. They also skimp on the meat while making it appear you're getting a lot of food. What they do is cut off the meat all the way to the bone and give you a pile of bones covered with tough silver skin. The meat on the bones are so tough because they don't pressure cook it, so eating off the bones is a messy and unpleasant experience. The meat that they cut off isn't even in the stew, making me wonder where they use it. Even the oxtail had no meat on it, which made this dish a complete rip off and fail in my book. Stick with the simple stews and you won't go wrong here.
