I went to Vito for the first time last week and absolutely loved it. I consider myself somewhat of a foodie and travel a bit for work, so I have the opportunity to visit restaurants in different cities around the world. After just one meal, Vito is definitely one of my favorite Italian restaurants in the US. The restaurant has been around for 40 years and some of the staff have been there since it opened. The staff members are attentive and they really know the menu.
The meatballs are everything but I hear they run out at some point every night so order them early. I also had the Caesar salad, and the Cioppino, both were delightful. I hear the lasagna is also fantastic. Honorable mention for the Sand Dabs, a colleague had them said they were excellent.
The narrow entrance and snug spaces feels like an old school New York setting, then immediately the scents and sounds felt like a big warm family gathering, yes a little noisy and busy in a good way, but food so good you'll remember and service like you know the staff and will see them again soon. Wonderful!
Love this restaurant. An institution! Great Happy Hour, but get there early as the bar is compact. But their Happy Hour is a great deal! The dinner there is great also. It's an older establishment that draws a more mature crowd, but still worth the visit. It can be a bit quite at times, so if you're looking for bustling and buzz, this isn't the place.
Outstanding vintage restaurant. Noisy, busy, and great food. Quality service and traditional Italian food. Valet parking in rear. Drinks at the bar are strong and created with knowledge and care. Many noteworthy people frequent this Santa Monica landmark.
So the food is Amazing. It's on the pricey side but worth it. The place has an awesome old school Italian kinda vibe with great ambience. They have delicious table side ceasar salad. We all shared ravioli, spaghetti followed by dessert and it was all delicious. The drinks were great too. They have a small lot with valet for 3$ at lunch and 5$ at dinner. Staff was very friendly and service was good. Overall I'd go back.
