    Update (8/6):

Came back here a second time and the food has improved in a short period of time. I got the coconut “tap that” water and the chicken dan dan noodles once more to see if there was a difference, and indeed there was. The food came out quickly and the coconut water came first, which makes sense. There’s new branding on the side which looks really cute but it still includes the umbrella, which I enjoyed from last time. The water tasted more chilled and had a stronger coconut taste. As for the noodles, the sauce was mixed much more evenly so that it coated the entirety of the noodles. The noodles were thicker, and there are now spring onions at the top which lent more flavor. The chicken was generously portioned throughout the noodles and instead of there being a pool of sauce at the bottom of the carton, it was mixed through. I liked the texture of the noodles and it reminded me a bit of a pancit texture. Also for those who work in the area, there’s a 10% off discount so be sure to mention it at checkout! I also learned that the red chairs in Social Eats are made from recycled Coke bottles, so I appreciate the efforts made to be environmentally friendly. This place does take card, and you order at the counter before taking a buzzer and finding a seat at one of the tables. Overall, great job with the improvements in food and speed of serving the food. I’d come back again for a quick lunch.

(7/30) Came here with a coworker for lunch to check out the SocialEats food hall on Third St Promenade. It was buzzing on a Monday at 12:30 but the line was short. You pay before you pick up your food, and you get a buzzer. There are tables in the back but they’re mostly two-seater tables. If you want to sit outside, you could go upstairs and there’s more seating available. I got the chicken dan dan noodles. It came in your typical take out container which was cute but all the sauce was congregated on the bottom and not mixed. The texture of the noodles was good but the chicken was sparse. It was a brown sauce and didn’t taste strongly of peanuts which is what I had been expected given that I ordered dan dan noodles. My coworker got the veggie yakisoba and she enjoyed it. They also forgot to give us our coconut waters so we had to wait after receiving our food to get the drinks. It was $5 and not worth it. Although it’s cute that it comes in the coconut and has a little umbrella, the water is not sweet and the coconut did not taste fresh. We also split an order of potstickers which came fried and filled with pork. The flavor was good but the meat was minimal and it’s small (just a mouthful). It comes in five. I like that there are other food options and it’s not too bad price-wise considering it’s on the Promenade.

I had the shrimp noods solid lunch option and I will definitely be back. The seasoning was good and shrimp would plentiful but they were a little soft like they were slightly undercooked. Or maybe forozen and thawed. For the price point I was not disappointed but it was something I did notice
